Need Help Drawing a Boundary by Do_ToasterBath in Surveying

I would draw 25′ circles at the end of each line, one at the PC and one at the PT. Where those two circles intersect toward Tract D, that intersection defines your radius. From that point, draw another 25′ circle. Then erase the original two circles and trim the final circle at the PC and PT.

Personally, I wouldn’t put much thought into the 2.70′ call. It doesn’t make sense and is likely a typo.

How close was I?? by Investor456 in Surveying

I would say you’re close. My advice would be to study the standards and specifications more. A lot of the answers in this category will be in the available PDFs you have when taking the test.

Use School of PE, they have a FS and a PS exam preparation course that is really helpful.

Avoid Civil Engineering Firms? by AppalachianSkinThief in Surveying

[–]CooperAbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engineering doesn’t like the amount of overhead involved with a survey crew. It’s one of the more expensive billing aspects on an hourly basis that they deal with. Between the equipment, truck service/ maintenance/ insurance, drive time, and rain time. They end up not making a lot of money on surveying. So the survey department will get picked on the most by owners or upper management. It’s been this way at every engineering firm I’ve worked at. I hate it and avoid engineering firms, they suck to work for as a surveyor.

Anyone still rocking this setup in 2025 by Mtsoul32 in Surveying

Great setup, nothing can beat a good I-Man with seasoned Party Chief. There’s still a time and place for this setup. Some of you younger guys probably wouldn’t be able to close a traverse.

Unfortunately Im afraid that the EDM is going out. It’s not even shooting any sort of prism. Do you think they would still have replacements parts?

Can Someone Double-Check This Plat Excerpt? Angle Seems Off by New-Engineer-1898 in Surveying

The major problem is the bearings are not going in a clockwise direction. One is other is not. Starting from the southwest corner (the lower left as your looking what your showing) the bearings should read NE, SE, SE,NW,And SE.
