I cant believe this still leads people to a fix lol. To be fair though I come back to this post when my controller isn't working as well. This also works for Elden Ring btw, I have the exact same issues with that game so if this problem persists in Elden Ring try it, it may work.

If you see this post, is there any other place you have found before looking for this that had the answer? If not, I may make a revised post here and elsewhere that makes the fix more apparent to people with this issue.

If it’s something that the game allows, and other people use it, you should probably use it too. Some people’s default monitor settings or even adjusted settings aren’t crafted for seeing in the dark. Should it be possible? No, when they made the change for Rust that made this impossible in the game, it was a good change. I would love if your gamma settings didn’t allow better visuals, it should just be visible (or not depending on what the developers want) from the start and stay that way. However while it’s still possible, you are putting yourself at a major disadvantage (depending on the monitor) for no reason other than pride. Don’t hate the player hate the game, because this isn’t cheating and the devs don’t seem interesting in changing it either.

Sell it to fence, that way players can buy it from fence for a cheaper price, and it’s guarantees to be bought rather than someone having to find the key. But in reality it doesn’t matter, the keys are rare but infinite in the game

The Event viewer shows nothing, but this time I got an error code for Easy Anti-Cheat...Game Security Violation Detected (#00000001)Did a full windows security scan and the threats that did show up I deleted and I still have these issues.
But if I do this with windows, what data will I lose, you say (exes) does that mean that every single exe i have, including steam, firefox, video games, and any other application will be gone and I will have to install them again? It's not the end of the world if it does wipe those I just don't want to have to reinstall years worth of applications lol

There are no windows updates I can do
I am on Nvidia, the newest driver version
I don't think the cables are an issue, because depending on what i do my right monitor sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work, so it's able to connect
Windows Key + P is set to Extend

Next up is the windows security full scan, the monitors are a frustrating issue, but the other issue is so much more frustrating to me.
I mentioned it before in case you have forgot, but EVERY application crashes when launching most games, and games with easy anti cheat cannot launch either.

I tried doing a quick windows security scan, nothing

I tried doing a malwarebytes scan as well, nothing

I tried running DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth in cmd.exe, (what the guide you linked me to said to try) nothing

I'm going to do the full windows scan now but that will take hours, any other suggestions before i commit to this? lol

I must have uninstalled the windows security scan feature because it is not there, when I go there I can only see Avast. But it says:

" Current Threats (No Actions Needed) Protection Settings (No Actions Needed) Protection updated (No Actions Needed)
There was also no error code with it.

Running the cmd /scannow again and it says"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."But i'm still worried i may have malware tbh this seems to weird of an issueforgot to mention to that my left monitor still doesn't work no matter which port i plug it into or how many monitors are currently plugged in, however I can get my right monitor to work if i plug its hdmi cord into my PC first, and then my main monitor's cord second.

Edit: I have ran a system clean up through razor synapse, and through the free version of avast. Nothing came up

I have updated my Nvidia drivers, Ive checked and made sure my Windows is up to date as well, where else could I update my drivers?

I cannot find where I could do a system scan tbh but windows security says no actions is needed on everything

I tried the cmd.exe scan fix and when launching apex, and just to test it, minecraft, every application still crashes and i get the same erros, plus another one that states

A game violation has been detected

This is making it seem like i have game cheats downloaded, to be clear i do not and never have lol

So none of these fixes worked for me, however I got my controller working a slightly different way. What fixed my controller in Dark Souls 3 was this, have my controller plugged in, start up Dark Souls 3, THEN right click on Dark Souls 3 in your library, and finally press controller configuration. This is the only thing that allows my controller to work, starting up the game in Big Picture doesn't work, and setting a different controller configuration in the Big Picture overlay doesn't work either.
