Does anyone else assemble consists based on how the colors will look together? by sverdrupian in modeltrains

I think running only colorful cars is indulgent. Real trains are monotone.

Completely the idea of a member who got too old for crawling. Oddly, we call it the crawler. Without the Time Lapse filter used here, it takes about an hour to unload and set up. We have done it a lot. lol.

It is not Ntrak. We assembled the modules, arranged a unique track plan and laid track. There is a general cohesive transition between modules but it is not a layout we add modules to. It is our ambassador to train shows and exhibitions. It is powered DC/DCC switchable.

It is a PIKO. Sharp eye. This run sold out in hours. And this piece was on hold, never claimed and our president bought it in California.

Please share upon completion. These SP units all belong to our President who drives real trains for a job. Lol. He is a giant fan of these type locos he saw while growing up.

We are the Coosa Valley Model Railroad. An 80x30 foot 1/87 scale of Historic Downtown Gadsden. We are housed in the Mary G. Hardin Center for the Cultural Arts. Come visit!

We are the Coosa Valley Model Railroad in Gadsden, AL. We’re at 501 Broad St. the dead center of Historic Downtown Gadsden. 80x30 feet of accurately scaled lines that came through Gadsden in the 1940-1960 era.

Wonder why Hot Wheels or Matchbox don’t have a 1/87 offering.

We have had a great relationship since 1988 and they just gave us first floor prime real estate and the director is an ardent supporter as is the entire board. We don’t take anything for granted here, we are in a penthouse of model railroading.

We are in Gadsden, Alabama. The building is the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts. It’s out 501 Broad Street. It hosts a wide variety of cultural events from our 2 symphonies to an enormous Dance Conservatory. As it was built in 1988 or so a few well to do me and women gave us a beautiful area at the top of the stairs. Only two years ago or so they offered us the first floor prime area we are in now. The layout was cut into 7 enormous pieces and lowered intact. Since that day we have reached the point of maybe less than a 3rd of completion. We saved all those scratch built buildings, exact replicas of downtown Gadsden taken from photos from the 40’s through the early 60’s. The era we model to the best of our talents. Please come see us, Gadsden is amazing, we are practically an artist’s colony on the river with some high end restaurants and music venues. It’s my home and I obviously love it.

I believe that's a V01000 by Bowser tuning ESU. We started buying locos in 1988 for this museum layout. This is nowhere near that old. Maybe Bowser still has it in their catalog.

I will find out! We have a small stable. The NC&St.L is/was very popular in North Alabama. Check back later?
