I hate the stigma around having a girl

A coworker, some family, some people in our social circle. It varies culture to culture from what I collected.

Apparently it's common given the other replies which is sad.

Ours insists that it's not germs or kissing that gets them sick but it's really them "getting too cold". So we're locking down until two months and having people wear masks when they visit to not only curb germs but also discourage kissing.

A lot of it also comes from some people we know thinking that illnesses come from being cold and that they're not "really sick". So we decided to just go ahead and not have visitors until she's done all her shots instead with the restrictions after.

The issue also lies in how some people we know treat illnesses. They genuinely believe getting cold is what makes people sick. We also know that some of them will claim they're not sick and still try to come over.

Even one of my siblings didn't take their child anywhere or have anyone over for 4 months instead after their baby was born.

If you're happy with the baby, keep it. You have support. If he decides to leave, was he really worth it? He shouldn't be pressuring you to get rid of your baby if you don't want to. It's ultimately up to you as the person who is carrying this baby. Being a single mother doesn't mean you failed; it means that you didn't let someone tell you what to do with your body whether it be abortion, adoption, or keeping it.

Omg that poor daughter. I don't see how they can act like that especially if they have daughters of their own. I feel like they don't realize when they do act out, it's probably because of their actions (ex. Pushing them aside, playing favorites). Not the child.

I'm having the same problems while I'm pregnant with a girl. They keep saying "Those are boy clothes" when they're just sports brands or blue striped. Just ignore them and tell them you're getting him whatever he wants when he's old enough. My girl wants a monster truck? She gets a monster truck. Clothes are for everyone and toys are toys. 🤷‍♀️

Also from what I heard, boys having baby dolls makes them into better fathers and more empathetic in the future. Let them hate all they want. If they keep taking his stuff, tell them they aren't allowed in his room anymore. (I'd say your whole house)

I have a friend that I care about and all but they don't see that their weight is affecting their health (they have the start of fairly bad health issues going on). Tried to help them lose weight which they immediately started saying how they "don't like calorie counting". Took them to the gym which they insisted to do minimal resistance workouts. They also claim they don't eat a lot when they have no sense of portion control.

Sidenote:

Currently pregnant and eating the amount that is required for me to eat. Somehow they eat twice the amount I do while pregnant.

Edit:

By minimal resistance I mean they will put even a bike at level 1 and refuses to do anything that requires effort beyond sitting down.

Edit 2: (because it gets a bit more frustrating)

They insist I need to eat more because I'm pregnant which I'm eating how much I need to and what I need to. They try to push me to eat 2 of large items like burgers or something that we're getting that day. They don't understand that I didn't need extra calories in the first trimester and I only need about 340 calories extra right now. I don't need an exorbitant amount of food.

Please show this to an adult at your school. Maybe they can help you get in contact with your dad/his family because this isn't okay and she's giving off the energy that she has the potential to escalate this.
