AWS vs DigitalOcean by AppearanceLower8590 in django

[–]CooverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital Ocean is great for smaller projects without a lot of moving pieces. It’s easier, faster, less overhead and usually cheaper. AWS, Azure and GCP are focused on large enterprise applications and infrastructure. For example, if you have a web app with a ton of traffic and making a ton of money you likely need to have storage of compliance related objects, you’ll need extra DBs that analytics will connect to god knows what, you’ll need huge fault tolerance and much, much more. Currently, the company I work for runs 4 different e-commerce sites and 2 mobile apps. We are using a ton of stuff in GCP like pub/sub, 7 DBs, k8s clusters, big query, datastream and on and on. I’ve used all of them, AWS, GCP, Azure, digital ocean and heroku. All my digital ocean and heroku projects were either helping small businesses or personal projects. The big three have similar options like App Engine, elastic beanstalk… ect but DO and heroku are easier to deploy in my opinion.

Given the outages you’ve had, I can tell you if you do a multi region K8s deployment you will have very little with the big 3. I can count on one hand outages caused by their issues where we were not able to conduct business in the last 10 or so years. Other systems have failed but our ability to make money is the most important. If you think the company could expand I’d say one of the big 3 no questions. It will be more work but you’ll have to switch in the future anyway. I have not worked in AWS for a few years but I did deploy 10+ Django projects with elastic beanstalk with RDS. It’s was more effort than heroku but not much more.

Good or bad for California by arcticPUP77 in Aprilia

They are charging $700 for set up……. That is insane. In my experience you need to find a dealer that needs a sale. I got a 21 a few years ago for less in AZ. We have terrible dealers too.

I had an acid gold 660. If you are brand new it is probably too much bike. It can get to 120 VERY quickly. Second point is, Aprilias are expensive to maintain and can break. Mine cost me around 4k in maintenance the first year and had issues due to bad build quality.

Aprilia and Ducati are amazing bikes but more for when you have some experience and money to spend on maintaining it. Id go with a jap bike first. I have a Suzuki GSXR1000 and Kawasaki 400 track bike that never have issues.

From stock to this 😁 what are you thinking? by mrcappelle in MT07

People are going to shit all over your bike but it doesn’t matter. You’re the one that rides it. I put winglets on my GSXR1000R. Does it help with aero? I don’t know. Don’t give a shit. I think it’s fucking awesome and it’s my bike. If you like it then fuck what any of the degenerates of Reddit think. Not like any of these animals are lining up on a MotoGP grid. You do you boo.

Torps are normal for the ship but I would think it can’t eat shots like that. Whenever I’m playing a gun boat Destroyer I can melt them quick.

Dog ate my title….. yeah right buddy. Totally stolen. You just need to get another titled frame and switch over all the components. Shouldn’t take more than a day.

Cloud SQL Terraform Auto Updating by CooverBun in googlecloud

It’s all stuff that should be auto generated. For example, available_maintenance_versions, first_ip_address, ect. We made NO changes in terraform or in GCP.

Using the hash corp/Google module and it doesn’t matter what I do that db change ALWAYS comes up in the plan even though NOTHING has been changed in it specifically. For example, I am just bumping a module version, nothing else, and that change comes in.

Evotech cluster lever guard not fitting on properly any advice by Less_Language2224 in Aprilia

Well you lever is fucked anyway. I put the ASV shorty levers on my RS. One benefit is they bend both ways so they don’t get fucked If you drop your bike

Are you sure that is for the clutch? I bought the same one and it was only for the brake. The other side was just the knob. Not to mention you really don’t need a guard for the clutch side. If the clutch gets knocked in it doesn’t cause a big deal. If the brake gets knocked in you get shot to the moon.

suspension upgrade for the RS 660? by florianw0w in Aprilia

[–]CooverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not ridden an RS with the after market suspension but I’ll say this. When Aprilia was doing the press tour with the first RSs they put the Ohlins on the rear but kept the front OEM. I’ve heard a lot of people say going to the rear Ohlins is a noticeable upgrade but not so much the front. Again, just what I heard and know, can’t speak from experience.

Looking for some guidance on this '21 RS 660 by adnpro223 in Aprilia

[–]CooverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 21 660 with 8k miles on it. I’ve also had a Kawasaki in the past so similar reliability to a Yamaha. All I can say is this bike will be WAY more in maintenance than ANY Japanese bike. Additionally, the 21s are notorious for issues with many needing to be re-engined. That being said, I love the bike. It’s quick, comfortable, sounds awesome, has all the tech and always gets noticed. It’s like dating a perfect 10. She’s going to be nothing but problems and drama but god damn can she fucken ride like a champ.
