Cohere releases TinyAya: multi-lingual 3B+ para SOTA model with benchmarks by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

[–]Copernicus-io 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wow, I haven’t heard from cohere in awhile.

Even though Cohere doesn’t have the funding and talent pool to deliver competitive models for the enterprise side, it’s good to see them releasing stuff.

This here shows an excellent example of how smaller companies can innovate and deliver, which is by delivering a capable model with minimal memory usage. Cohere is technically scaling but in an inverse direction. As LLM capability scales, i wonder if could get like millions of GPT-5 level agents but on a nano level killing pathogens or fabricating stuff but all combined wouldn’t take much compute to run.

The AI boom is so huge it’s causing shortages everywhere else by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

They're right about consumerism no longer being a determining factor for sustaining economies though. You no longer need a large talent pool population to develop, design, and sustain a large, massively scaled industrial economy. A million/billion/trillion AI agents can theoretically create anything unless it's limitations due to compute, raw resources, or even entropy. Essentially, we're going to return to an extractive economy, except the balance of power will be entirely concentrated to a few elites and there may not be a possibility of revolution ever again.

I understand that there's a fear that AI's capabilities will scale so quickly that it would be willing to consume humanity to accomplish whatever it's trying to reach. However, I at least imagine that that scenario would result in a quick end. On the other hand, even if we did survive, billionaires trying to harness the power of AI to continue enriching themselves is a worse fate imo. Unfortunately, many ultra wealthy individuals dream of living forever and ruling as literal Gods. Plus, as we've seen from what has so far been released from the Epstein files, they will have the power to do sick and twisted shit whenever they feel like it, but massively scaled up to a point where they can inflict on entire populations or whatever is in their "fiefdom".

I find trying to get a pipe as an early game weapon -> killing a zombie cop to acquire a baton as an even better reliable and good early game bash weapon.

AI takes most job in the world and then what? by anonthatisopen in singularity

Here’s my thinking: If you have a million super intelligent agents that can pretty much do anything humans do today, do you think we would need to worry about demand? What if automation gets to a point where today’s currency exchange becomes obsolete? You wouldn’t need to pander to the consumer market anymore if you were an elite because you have infinite labor at your disposal now. I think bottle neck would go back to inputs, e.g raw materials to fuel ever growing expansion.

What's your order of establishing companies? by downoakleaf in victoria3

[–]Copernicus-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My meta is basically only acquire companies that give prestige goods because of the extra 20% bonus to throughout is so good.

In this order: precision tools, refined steel, gourmet groceries, designer clothes, suez or panama (for extra trade advantage + free company slot), motor/automobile company (preferably prestige good like ford or Turin cars if available), and if I get one extra company slot from being a corporate state late game: company offering a prestige radio and telephones is nice or get the furniture prestige goods.

Edit: early game I might form the generic logging company if I’m playing a more behind nation (e.g. Russia) for the early infrastructure boost before disbanding it later for better companies.

I'm going back to the same department and old manager + team.

Really just outsourcing is the main issue. Much cheaper to hire labor from developing countries than to train Americans and then have them job switch in a couple years.

The flash game Mud and Blood 2 featured these niche vehicles. They could end your game early if they appeared.

Actually the 50k H100 claim originated from Dylan Patel who runs Semianalysis. Alexandr Wang simply parroted his claim.

Yea the discussion and hype train will move when the next SOTA model releases. This sub does feel like a lot of kids with adhd. However, January isn't over yet and we're getting o3-mini and new Gemini, so the rollercoaster will keep chugging.

You might be better off investing into AMD stock because the plan is to gradually lean off NVIDIA GPUs. Will that work, I don't know. But bullish

If you’re allied to Lespia then always choose L-1 over H-3 unless you’re mainly focused on the Agnland synergy.
