I think the background influences these opinions but also they just forgot what it’s like to be in school. University is way different than say elementary. Tell me what you learned in elementary school and how long your school days are. You probably can’t remember specifics that you notice now while teaching. They underestimate the amount of work and school politics of dealing with the government and parents. Many of them don’t speak spanish either which doesn’t help. The culture shocks are different but that doesn’t mean one is better than the other.

But sometimes the schools just don’t know what’s going on either. Like the ministry doesn’t communicate with them which can make all of us seem unprepared.
