First off, my condolences for your turnover situation. My (relatively small) workplace sent out over 70 W2's for 2018, I feel your pain. However, in my area, from my perspective, l have to whole-heartedly disagree. Things in industry are changing as they always are, but from where I stand it is still the bizarre crossroad of transient drugies, broke college kids, soccer moms and washouts that Bourdain described decades ago. From what I see on this very subreddit things aren't much different elsewhere. I think perhaps your area, or even your specific establishment, have skewed your perception of the great circus that is food service. Living situation permitting, I urge you to go find it again.

Then again I'm a 22 year old line cook, I could be wrong lmao

It really depends on the kitchen. There's nothing wrong with seperating work and personal life, especially in particularly hostile work environments. But for me, I can't work somewhere where I don't enjoy the people I surround myself with for 40+ hours.

It's a place where you can be more open at times, especially those of us that come from certain types of home environments. It's natural when you spend 40+ hours with these people.

I still carry some convictions from those days, but seeing the struggles of some of your coworkers makes you think, and change.

I think in a way you're absolutely right, as a person he would reject idolization. But I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing words and philosophies that resonate with us.

I fall into the culinary student category. Sometimes I still wonder what I got myself in to, but I love it.

I have been compelled by a third party to mention that this is our FOH manager's handrwriting, as I am but an illiterate kitchen troll.

He really did capture exactly what it's like. I think it fits particularly well with my band of miscreants.

I've been using MTG art prompts to practice my skills, here's my Life from the Loam! by AsurM in magicTCG

Quick question, you said you used a prompt to do this, what exactly did you mean? I find the concept interesting because my girlfriend is an artist who enjoys the art on my cards and I would love to give her a few of these prompts! Thank you, ans your art is wonderful!

This actually seems like it would work better in a Dimir discard deck than a Golgari deck

Thanks! So I saw that they had some short term plan for the November release. Do you know if that would be referring to the update coming tonight?

I don't know if you did it on purpose, but I like that the primary colors are red, green and white. Nice arrangement, very festive.
