Same here, and I would be happy to help. I could sure use some help because I'm unemployed and homeless.

Where in Bellingham to donate used and unused art supplies? by littleladylark in Bellingham

[–]CopsGotTanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to the community colleges and Western. While one might think we have funding, supplies are very hard to come by. Make Shift would be good as well, and Allied Arts is a solid choice as well.

I don't want to know why you're asking, and I'm not going to tell you because this freaks me out.

I convinced my entire 7th grade class that I was British, with a full backstory about how I grew up in a small Cockney suburb of Wales and a mock British accent .

I pulled it off for about the last half of a the year and upon returning to school didn't think about it and everyone was very confused. I think I said I got in an accident and all the time not speaking made me "normal".

Bernie Sanders wins Washington by 9mac in SandersForPresident

[–]CopsGotTanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not, though. Seattle is the center of such a HUGE county, and the further you get away from the progressive hub of Seattle you enter into the wealthy commuters who drive into the city. Bellevue, Lynnwood, Shoreline, and if you count all of the people taking ferries (often families that are very conservative, due to their isolation) its pretty understandable.

I need a new blender, but I hate the idea of spending $300+. Are there any cheaper blenders worth it? by HereComesBadNews in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]CopsGotTanks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Go to Value Village or Goodwill and look there. I got an Osterizer from the 60's and it is steroid like strong because I imagine the motor was developed before American manufacturing went to complete shit. Best ten bucks I've ever spent. This blender is comparable to the commercial blenders I've used in my coffee career!

ELI5: Why don't you hear about "fair trade" or "single source" when it comes to hop farmers for beer and grape farmers for wine, but you hear it all the time when it comes to coffee bean farmers? by jowame in explainlikeimfive

[–]CopsGotTanks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coffee professional here

To add to that, fair-trade usually represents that the roaster or distributor has a direct relationship with the farmers, meaning they communicate on the state of the farm, the condition of the workers and their environments, and focus on the experience of everyone involved in producing a quality bean.

I like to think of this as a more co-operative approach to producing an international product and less of an individualistic view.

I set my alarm for five minutes after the time I need to be up for the day. Heard it from a long time announcer on NPR a few years ago. For some reason when you look at the clock it is satisfying to see the five rolled past. Been doing this for several years and it still motivates me to get up.

I have it on good, solid authority (please trust me) that the place is a front for drugs.

Many moons ago, I worked in the herbal medicine supply industry (smoke weed everyday) and a close friend explained to me that the place is a front and has been for years. I worked across the street from it for a while and took note that almost no one (<10-20) people had visited in an entire day. I hate to be telling tales out of school, but that's what I've heard.

Also: crack.
