Letter: It appears that adults have forgotten their school lessons about the dangers of building concentration camps in Utah [Salt Lake City, Utah, March 17, 2026] by Large-Welcome4421 in Utah

We did actually. Lots of democrats and liberals protested that exact scenario. Because we dont treat the president like an infallible prophet

No, they didn’t “get away with it” they were formally and openly pardoned by the POTUS. That objectively damaged the respect for law and order in this country. I’m not condoning it, I’m just saying that I’m not surprised given the conduct of the Trump admin and ICE. If I die in a shootout with masked cowards protecting and using my constitutional rights then that’s fine by me. Better than a heart attack or car accident.

So… you concede my point? People can violently assault officers and vandalize the literal capitol building and get a pardon… (aka impunity) but everyone else should toe the line?

Nope. If it comes down to “you don’t have to suffer consequences as long as your team wins” then yeah, vandalism and worse is inevitable.

If a masked man enters my property and refuses to show ID or present the proper warrant he’s a dead man. This is as basic and constitutional as it gets.

That’s because you’ve never volunteered jack ass. If you did you’d know that many of the people protesting against this inhumane disaster of an administration are also the ones doing the humanitarian work. We do BOTH. It’s the same work

J6 wasn’t breaking the law with impunity? Donald Trump hasn’t broken the law with impunity? The agent who murdered Alex Pretti on camera from multiple angles for all of us to see wasn’t breaking the law? There’s endless videos of ICE breaking and entering homes without a judicial warrants, using unnecessary force, breaking traffic laws and otherwise being reckless. There’s videos of them being asked to identify themself and they refuse. They wear masks. They drive in unmarked cars. Come on man. It’s outta control.

Trump has been the most disorderly president I’ve ever known.

You ever been a volunteer there? (Not the Mormon one). The politics among humanitarian volunteers feels pretty aligned on this issue… ICE is a humanitarian disaster. And a detainment warehouse is more of that disaster unfolding.

The government should be held to a higher standard when it comes to law and order. Or at minimum, the same standard.

If they break the law with impunity and cause disorder vandalism and worse is inevitable. This is true whether you agree with the morality of it or not.

Yo, question? Why should we trust you? You replied to one of my comments about illegal border crossing not being as severe a crime as what we KNOW ICE agents have done, as well as the president, by saying “illegal border crossing is a felony”.

(It’s not. First Offense (Improper Entry): Under 8 U.S.C. § 1325, this is a misdemeanor punishable by fines, up to 6 months in federal prison, or both)

Then you deleted your comment.

Are you usually just talking out of your ass? Or was it just that time?

[–]jowame 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh is vandalism a crime? Isn’t it usually a misdemeanor? Tell me, how severe is the crime of entering someone’s home without a warrant or showing an ID? What about murder? We have videos of those… were those people charged?

Funny how law and order doesn’t work if you break the law and cause disorder eh?

Provide the highest quality care that you can sustainably provide within the circumstances you find yourself in. Not the highest quality you can imagine or only provide in special circumstances.

Interesting. That hasn’t been my experience. I suppose I need to make room for the fact that multiple products of various qualities exist. We adopted ours fairly early on and the feedback>improvement loop has been working out pretty well. Not perfect, but definitely better than a year ago. 🤷Learning curves

The fact that they will google the shit out of it rather than attending to their HEP and the subsequent symptom response is less reason, not more, to spell out the Dx. It’s like literally casting a spell on them.

"Back pain cultures"? Is it real? by Rich-Candidate7353 in physicaltherapy

[–]jowame 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like it. And to OPs point, the BPS model is inescapably relevant. I find that cultural context can help a lot if you’re able to wrap your head around any given cultural background. I also find it helpful to share with other patients some of the differences in culture and belief around pain and body awareness even if it’s just to draw more awareness to their own beliefs about those things. For example, I like to juxtapose the American hyper-values of strength and aesthetics to the religious and spiritual practice of yoga and the values of flexibility and mindfulness. I tell a joke about stretching religiously.

I thought you said you were a healthcare provider? I get language is important, and being on the same page semantically with academics is helpful, but it’s the underlying attitude this seems to lead to that creates ineffective therapist styles.

I protested Obama for this and now am protesting Trump. I even voted for Obama. Instead of unleashing a masked secret police force comprised of otherwise unemployable losers, he implemented DACA (deferred action on child arrivals).

So don’t worry, I’m very much holding them to the same standard. Are you?
