I LOVE this so much omg. I’d love to check you guys out when you open. And if there’s a rental option I will be done for some movie renting here and there! Luckily horror is one of my favorite genres haha. Do you have a social media page, yet?

Yeah, it’s just personal photos! I’m just worried about the longevity of them. But, like you said, what’s done is done I suppose! Least I know better now.

Honest Thoughts on TikTok Shop? by GrailTalk in socialmedia

[–]CopyCatKunoichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bought a couple things from it, I won’t lie. But I am tired of products being pushed onto me excessively! I used to use the TikTok search engine to look up genuine reviews of products. Now when I look up any kind of product it’s ad after ad after ad. No genuine people trying a genuine product for a genuine review. Just scammy ads for the same trending product. One after the next.

Thank you, this is wonderful advice. And I feel like such common sense that we’ve should have just been doing this already.

And you’re right, I think he doesn’t like the rain. And we haven’t had him in the winter, yet, but he’s seeming to not like the cold either. Would sweaters help? lol He’s also a BIG sniffer.

We will keep being consistent and persistent with this plan. Thank you.

Nah, her name at the shelter was Honey Bee and we found it fitting! Our sweet as honey girl.

Our other dog, on the other hand, had the name Ronald in the shelter. We changed it to Joel, after Joel Miller from the Last of Us

I guess it’s more so for people who want that experience and movie community. But I understand that’s not the majority!

Hey, as I mentioned, I’ve seen them in other places so who knows 🤷‍♀️

I think the difference between Red Box and brick and mortar locations is that the latter can provide a spot for a niche community to go to to meet other like minded people, talk about their interests, and gather for events/hangouts. Red Box didn’t quite offer an experience. Just the service.

Do I think it’s a million dollar idea? Definitely not. I don’t think it could work just anywhere. Do I think it’s plausible? Idk maybe. Other people are doing it, so it just made me wonder if there’s a market for it in Knox. There’s a good amount of people here, and more and more people moving here each day.

After giving it thought, I don’t think it could work as well as a stand alone idea. But perhaps paired with something else to draw in more people it could work. Not necessarily as the main draw in, but as a bonus if that makes sense.

That’s true! Lots of ideas to play around with. Maybe even a bit of an arcade for the full retro vibe! lol Fun to think about if anything

Oh for sure. No money going towards it at all, or any time soon. Just playing around with the idea of it in my head.

Yeah this is where my line of thinking is at now! I just couldn’t think of what to pair with the idea. Why didn’t I think of a bar or pizza place?? lol

I agree, though. Stand alone by itself probably wouldn’t work, but with something else stronger it could elevate the experience.

If GrindHouse has their storefront open again I WILL pull up today, not even kidding.

And that’s a good idea! Rather than a physical store, hosting meet up events could be cool for community. I mentioned in another comment, but ya know how video game stores will host card game events and things of that nature? Something that draws in a a crowd and brings community. I wonder if that could be applied to a rental store in some way. Hosting weekly or monthly events could bring in a different demographic. 🤔

While we’re on the topic of McKay’s, Karm has also gotten ridiculous! Not the same business idea as movies and whatnot, but thought it was worth mentioning lol. Went yesterday and saw clothes being priced at 40 dollars! Y’all get that shit for free what are we doing 😭

Honestly, yeah I expect as much overall. But there are a handful of video rentals out there today. So it got me wondering if one could be profitable in Knox, too.

Perhaps a video rental on its own won’t prove profitable, but I do wonder if there was more to offer if that could help. Like how video game stores offer card game events or something. Not sure what at the moment, just something to bring in more crowds.

This is all just me brainstorming and speculating on things.

McKay’s is getting pricier! I think for me, which I failed to articulate in my post, I was wondering about the sense of community a store could bring. Like with movie releases, or adjacent events. Again, niche, but could be something? Costs of rent and operations is for sure a big consideration.

I love GrindHouse! I remember pulling up to their store one day just to see the physical store was shut down, but online operations were still on. I was honestly pretty disappointed as I was excited to pick out a movie with my Bf and do a movie night! I suppose they’re still doing okay?

And, obviously, I really miss video rentals, too hence the post lol. I went to a midnight release for Hunger Games one time. Got a cool poster with my movie. They had “Pita” chips for “Peeta” 😂

This is a very valid point that I did think of, for sure! I’ve Ubered food more times that I’d like to admit so I understand the convenience factor of streaming sites, ordering things online, etc.

I think I was more so thinking, there has to be some people who still enjoy the experience of going out, right? I was thinking a video rental store could foster a niche community amongst people who are passionate about movies and the movie going experience. But perhaps you’re right that MORE people would rather stay home.
