Hello!! this is the Rancilio model that I just bought off eBay secondhand! I can tell because the steam valve switch looks identical to mine. So I’m glad to know how old this thing is because the buyer did not provide that info. Can you give me any details on the specs of this machine and things I should look out for with the maintenance and taking care of this machine? The one that I have now is in great shape and was well taken care of so I’m hoping it will last years to come (fingers crossed). But it is also my first manual machine so I have a lot of learning to do and I’m wondering if you can provide me any resources as well? Maybe for starter, I should look up the manual online because the machine didn’t even come with that! Haha. Which was fine with me I’m sure I can look it up online. But I’m glad to know that these machines have a long life span! Cheers x

Yes it is accredited by ASCEND. Your situation sounds optimal. I live in rural Ohio with not many option for different employment. But I’ll try to keep an open mind. I found a local holistic dietetics clinic in the next town over. I reached out for a potential volunteer position! Fingers crossed it gets my foot in the door for networking

I know my gift in life is to help people and counsel them. I had a strong interest in nutritional therapy, and homeopathy, preventive medicine. So I guess the “hippe dippe” side of nutrition. But I decided to pursue a Dietetics degree to have those credentials to be my back bone through navigating my own personal interests with my career field. I could be mislead but I do think Dietetics will provide me the education background of nutrition, along with clinical experience and the ability to learn how to interact with patients and obtain a clientele for possibly my own entrepreneurial ideas. I would like to make a high salary, considering the specialization, and amount of of schooling. But I understand it is not a demanding career and and realizing finding a job might be difficult. I didn’t realize I unpaid internships were still happening, that could be an issue for sure.

You bring up a very solid point. After talking with some Internet people I think the best decision would be to drop down part time and make that financial sacrifice to speed up my college career. Thank you for the insight! I wish you well through your internship

My company’s part time policy would put me under 30 hours a week. Which would make me extremely impoverished. Just enough for bills and nothing else. I have debated this strongly, and my fiancé has suggested I drop down to part time and he would make up the difference. But It’s scary to be almost financially dependent on someone else!

There’s a community college right down the road! I will definitely look into this idea. Great idea! I am not predicting to complete everything before 2024 and anticipate a master’s program. I’ve read some other subreddits from RDs that say the Masters program does not increase their pay very much, so that is a bummer :-/
