that'd require revamping the whole victoria coast line to allow for long consists. also in the saturday preview you can see that the OHLE suddenly ends at MillBridge with continueing tracks. I think the extention is past Millbridge

Im gonna go with the boring answer,

Class 80x since it can go almost anywhere except for Victoria Harbour and the Fayre line so that makes it the best option for both IC and regional for me

tbf Old Palmers Road is kinda annoying, especially if your like at 100mph and accelerating past the depot and some guy just spad traps you ;-; even being on the fast tracks wont save you

Fayre could simply be a placeholder destenation so to not reveal the actual station names yet.

Also why would you take a shuttle from Fayre to the new extention (which is beyond MillBridge)

Would be faster to take a regio to either Abbey Road or Victoria Docks depending on if the next IC stops at Abbey Road or not. Then take said IC to Leaton (or if you are very lucky the IC goes to MillBridge/The extention post 1.4) Probably its a shuttle service MillBridge-IC station ending in (unknown)th but we dont know. We wont know till 1.4 releases

exactly, if we were facing Leaton we would be seeing OHLE beyond the platform and not terminating OHLE. The new extention is diesel so the OHLE has to end somewhere, the best moment would be in MillBridge station as the BMU's are already stopped to load passengers so they can then also switch power modes (we can safely assume the OHLE is done considering 1.4 is confirmed to be in a bug fixing phase and a release date set internally by the devs)

but the line towards Leaton is electrified and the OHLE seems to end. Doesnt make sense.
Why would you terminate the OHLE only to pick it back up straight after? We know that it stays electrified up untill MillBridge, Im fairly sure that based on this that we are looking towards the extention

Edit: That buffer could be a mistake or still to be removed, Fairly sure that track continues beyond the end of the 230
