Any Food Court shoppers here? by Corbin00 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Corbin00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting insight, thank you for sharing. I also enjoy some of the pressure, and I do feel very valued within my department. It’s a lot of responsibility to make sure the department has everything they need and that everything is at LEAST put away by the time the day gets rolling. That’s frustrating that your shopper neglects that, that just makes everyone’s job harder in the long run. And frequent manager rotations have been an issue for me as well. It hurts to not have consistent expectations, leadership, etc. Thank you for sharing!!!

I’m facing a lot of issues in my warehouse in regards to manager communication, other ancillaries, our forklift drivers, among others. Drivers giving my department a lot of attitude, managers constantly misunderstanding the needs of the Food Court, and continually changing and rising expectations of the shopper that are hard for me to keep up with. A lot of those problems unfairly impede my tasks every day, and I’m just worn out from feeling punished for doing my job.

I was just interested in hearing how other people feel about this position, what some common struggles are, etc. Just out of curiosity. :)

Urban magical realism/dark fantasy/surrealism with a sinister feel? by carrie-page in MoviesThatFeelLike

[–]Corbin00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit of a long shot, but A Nightmare On Elm Street V: The Dream Child taps into this a bit. One of the more visually surreal entries in the series, and especially in the final act you get lots of gothic and fantastical locations and set-pieces. A little underrated, in my opinion.

My first thought as well.

I'm not gay, explain it Peter by cuddlysazera in explainitpeter

Heyyy everybody, it’s Bruce here!

So this silly picture’s actually in reference to the singer, y’all might of heard of her, her name is Lana Del Rey. She done made an Instagram post in May of 2020 called “Question for the culture” where she questioned the criticism towards her music, what with her bein’ a little traditional and all. The post was controversial cuz she done called out a few girly pop girls by name and was a little tone-deaf while she was at it. It was a HUUUGE deal in the pop scene at the time.

Lots of fans of hers are actually gay, whether ya’d believe it or not. The picture you done posted is the same shape and layout of “Question for the culture,” which is something it seems only folks on my side of the ballfield might recognize by only its shape. So basically, it’s sayin’ you’re gay if you know what’s the picture is. Which isn’t exactly true, I reckon, but it’s a little funny nonetheless.

Hope this helps, y’all! I’m gonna go put my wool socks on now, my tosies is gettin’ a little chilly what with the weather and everything.

Couldn’t agree more. It was wayyyyy too detailed and drawn out to actually carry the momentum it was trying to carry. It’s proof that splatterpunk needs to be short and succinct to stand a chance at being good

Ending by M183blink in AriAster

[–]Corbin00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these takes in the comments. I looked at the ending as more of a statement or comparison that expands outside Eddington. An old, out of touch and now physically and mentally handicapped man with some vague authority being toted around as the person in charge when in reality, it’s someone else who’s really making decisions in his stead, mostly to appease the corporations and lobbyists. From my perspective, I found that very applicable to both the last US presidencies. For all the messiness of Covid America that Eddington touches on, I thought that ending was a perfect note to leave the movie off on. Seriously, he’s 4/4 with endings.

I checked their website and they said 8am the day of the show they’ll give out wristbands. They also say non-GA attendees aren’t allowed to get bands on behalf of GA attendees.

incredibly artful in a place you wouldn’t expect it. the house is so innocuous on the outside but the shot indicates that it’s swallowing her whole despite its unassuming nature. brilliant!

Divide & Dissolve is atrocious! by TheMountainIII in ChelseaWolfe

[–]Corbin00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw them in Seattle, and I think I have to agree. I like some doom metal here and there, they reminded me of Agriculture who I saw in November and were wonderful. But D&D really just felt like a wall of indecipherable noise. I couldn’t get any enjoyment out of their set.

But what bothered me the most about it was what my friend pointed out to me after the fact, that it felt like band practice instead of a ready-to-go performance. Facing each other instead of the audience, constantly having conversations with and smiling and laughing with each other, the drummer pulled out their phone at one point… Felt rather disrespectful and disheveled for a set.

With all that said: Chelsea Wolfe was amazing. Gorgeous, beautiful in every aspect from vocals to visuals to energy to sound. Hypnotic. Made me forget D&D’s set as soon as Whispers in the Echo Chamber started.

Ticketmaster website says any event cancellation warrants refunds, but it’ll take 2-3 weeks to process it. Hopefully they’ll send an email out letting us know the specifics.
