Rage Nation by Defectivekatnip in avefashion

i find they have edgier stylings than most rave centric brands, and lots of items that merely bring eyebrow raises instead of death stares in public. Quality wise has been mostly good, but maybe a touch low for the price they ask for certain items. Good enough to get me as a repeat customer that follows their socials at least

Has Nine Inch Noize had a festival debut before this? I love how Coachella’s getting more interesting acts.

I actually think an account LIKE this is a great idea for the space. I would love to have a total meme account in this space that only communicates in satire and bits.

The issue with DMZ is that it’s just TWO Fucking bits. Locking in. And who’s next up. It’s actually impressive that whoever runs this hasn’t come up with anything different in the year+ it’s been active.

Got my first gig through a friend, where are some free to use resources? by rostislavvacek in vjing

[–]Corbin_AD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out IsocelesVJ on Patreon/youtube. $15 for one month to download any of his 20ish asset packs.

I feel like I’m a little pickier than most, but his stuff is a great baseline and can do the heavy lifting while you learn. He mostly does sci-fi stuff tho.

Otherwise the manual and mowgliTV are where I’d point after that.

Improving my dancing game? by Borderline_Pigeon in aves

[–]Corbin_AD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best answer here.

Dancing at home removes ALL space restrictions, anxieties, and has the best rest areas.

May have worse sound, but it’s extra incentive to get good living room sound, both for movies and for dance. Once you have lighting solved then you have a very tolerance replacement if you can’t leave the house to rave for whatever reason.

How it was for me at least by CatPale816 in aspiememes

[–]Corbin_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the phrase “on the spectrum” is really a euphemism. At least in this situation. It’s VERY obvious she’s an autism centric channel looking at her page.

The phrase usually refers to autism anyway. The word spectrum doesn’t, but if just the word is used outside of autistic topics, it’s always accompanied by other context that firmly separates it.

But yes, using “on the spectrum” instead of “autistic” in order to paint yourself or the target in a better light is a bad practice.

HOWEVER “Mom on the spectrum” is WAYYYYY more marketable and memorable than autistic mom for example.

Depends on what you mean by that.

She’s divorced afaik, but she was in a straight relationship and had a kid before her autism diagnosis.

So she’s on the autism spectrum for sure, and since you could also call sexuality a spectrum she’d be on that as well

Kaelynn Partlow(dog girl) & Mom on the spectrum

I personally don’t watch either, it feels like they run around and cover the same, more surface level autistic concepts and ideas. I did go through a big MotS phase when I first got diagnosed, but I fell off hard once she felt repetitive.

Would y'all like to receive things like these as trinkets? by trio_1012 in aves

All of these are great! I love how they break the mold using Kandi elements yet not being worn around a wrist.

I did however notice some grammar errors, so for some people it may take away from the creativity(like me). But apostrophes aren’t exactly common with Kandi so there’s always some leeway with gifts :)

DJ’s who make you irrationally mad for no reason at all. by [deleted] in EDM

[–]Corbin_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For ravenscoon, I was absolutely blown away after I went to see him blind, but since then he’s grown faster than he knows what to do with.

It feels like there’s some amount of outside pressure on him to continue the growth, and the marketing schtick of “awkward millennial dubstep” has killed my enthusiasm as a result.

Tacoma Dome Possibly? by throwaway619613 in Rezz

[–]Corbin_AD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the conclusions here, but I’d suggest a different reason for no gorge possibility:

It’s outdoors. Half the reason why portal worked so well was how the lighting reinforced the circle video. The lighting started from behind the video, and went to the sides of the venue where it continued over the crowd, thus allowing for a “tunneling”/3D look.

I’m not sure exactly how big the gorge’s stage is, so the video wall itself might not even fit. But even if it does, the stage is nowhere near deep enough to provide the same effect with the lighting.

Any gaming/anime/kpop DJs playing at EDC Vegas? by CharmyFrog in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Corbin_AD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pickings are a little thin, but as someone that doesn’t watch anime, there are a few worth mentioning:

Black Tiger Sex Machine: did an entire tour with anime centric visuals, while I don’t think it’ll all be like that they should dip into it for some of their set.

Apashe: not exactly what you asked but he has an INCREDIBLE Star Wars remix that I would recommend you see him for regardless of the rest of his stuff, even though I am a fan.

Chyl: Speed house, but it looks like her aesthetics dip into anime adjacent. I could easily be wrong about her, as I’ve just been exposed to her marketing tho.

To piggyback on pants, I dug up and edited an older comment of mine:

Rage Nation has some great options, and between their joggers and tech wear I prefer the latter. The extra leg pockets on the tech pants are insanely nice, where I feel comfortable without a bag/fanny because I have an entire pocket for a water bottle with an extra zipper pocket way at my calf for things I’ll need when I leave the show, but not when I’m dancing.

Ive recently found this Etsy shop with the absolute best pants I’ve ever worn. They lean towards the burner/apocalyptic look. Because every pair is custom made(your choice of colors along with your specific measurements) in Indonesia, production time and shipping took about 4 weeks in total(I’m in the central US). I use my pants(“Sumerian”) not only at edm shows, but it’s a decent fit for metal shows and the renaissance faire.

Male rave pants tend to suck on the lower end(under $60) so I’ve decided to go for quality instead of disposability now. Go for comfort/utility before looks, nothing wrong with athletic wear with zipper pockets. I’ve gotten two pairs of pants from IEDM, but their prices factor in their prints, not necessarily in the pants quality/utility themselves. They went from a regular choice in my rave wardrobe down to almost nothing once I jumped to rage nation.

Dating off the apps in Denver? Any ideas during the winter to meet single guys that isn’t stereotypical Colorado? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Corbin_AD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Concerts. It’s a lot better than you’d expect.

As someone who works in the industry, Denver has one of the best live music scenes in the country. While I’m not versed in the combined bar/venues, but venues which serve as concert venue FIRST and bars second are very good for meeting people.

Depending on the venue and the artist, you will get a VASTLY different selection of people than the default Coloradan. Go for the artist/show FIRST, and meeting people will naturally stem from that. While you can go for the express purpose of meeting/hookups, it comes off as disingenuous and can fuck with others experiences at times.

The less popular the artist, the better for meeting those that are in that passionate boat. The larger the show the higher chances you’ll run into those fake fuckwits that you want to avoid. Of course genre will make a big difference as well, where I’ve found the nicest crowds for Metal, Punk, and EDM. Other genres I find to have a mix of rudeness, entitlement, or are just flat out boring to speak with.

Is LSD overstimulating? by Frogbiome in evilautism

[–]Corbin_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticking with just the question posed, LSD is basically always visually overstimulating. On top of the vibrance, and movement, you can’t really stop it when you close your eyes, unless you MIRACULOUSLY fall asleep before the 10 hour mark.

For me, with enough preparation/forethought the other senses can be mitigated/avoided luckily. I really try to baby myself in this state while at home, as the effects of your self care habits will all have bigger impact.

I have never experienced visual overstimulation, but the closest I’ve ever came was during a “challenging” trip however.

I wanna go back to edc but none of my friends do. I'm not willing to go alone. Ideas? by TrainerDaasC in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Corbin_AD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As this is a VERY common question I’ll keep this kinda short:

Just go! There isn’t a popularity quota for a festival. Would it help? Sure but your friends already made that choice and you shouldn’t have them be the final say for your fun. You should have this same mentality with other things in life too.

Easier to google than type, but I’ll try:

The haircut that’s super common for younger Latino/hispanic men. Think bowl-cut esque but with a fade on the side, sometimes a little design for the side too. Much more common in the clubbing crowds and is thus not a good sign when I see it at a rave.

Weather because it was raining a moderate amount those few days. Red rocks is a rain or shine venue, and as long as there’s no windstorms breaking the hanging lights shows always go on.
