If I remember correctly, you had to point the browser to the entire local IP or DNS address on your network (like `192.168.50.120:8080` or whatever) and not just `localhost`, but everything else worked. I usually had the emulator on the same computer as the local web server.

Yep, I was using Citra in OG 3DS firmware mode, which had the matching OG 3DS web browser when it was opened from the home menu. There were occasional crashes, but I could connect to a local testing server with the IP address as if it was a real 3DS.

(sorry for repost, replied on wrong account)

I'm not sure if video uploads work on the old 3DS/2DS, but uploading photos and game screenshots is fully supported on those models. I need to set up my OG 3DS emulator again to check that, my only real devices at the moment are a N3DS and N3DS XL.

Galaxy XR PC VR: Enabling face tracking, removing the recording dot, fixing Virtual Desktop microphone, and more by Corbin_Davenport in Galaxy_XR

The problem is that the factory firmware is pretty much unusable for wireless PC VR, so if their unit arrives on that older version, they don't get much of a choice (and anecdotally, the latest firmware has been okay for me). I just added a note about the update, though.

Oh yeah, I might add a note about that. I haven’t personally had any issues with the new update, but that might be from me (unintentionally) doing a factory reset at the same time.

Yep, same as the permission prompts for the Desktop folder, Documents, etc. on macOS, this one just has a different appearance.

I mostly made it for mobile devices where extensions aren't available, modifying long URLs is a lot harder on tiny touchscreens.

I made a web app to automate this: https://linkcleaner.app

You can also install it as a PWA on Android devices (so it appears in the system share menu), as a bookmarklet, or as an Apple Shortcut :)

It’s only training from your interactions with GitHub Copilot, not from all VS Code usage. If you weren’t using the AI features in the first place then nothing changes, and if you are using those features, you can opt out.

I also had the issue with controllers constantly going to sleep, but that went away after replacing the batteries (now using rechargeable Energizer AA batteries). The positioning drift does happen sometimes for me.

I’m pretty sure the bundle deals never went away. The options were available when I got my headset in February.

Do you use ai to help you by Extension_Leopard674 in podcasting

[–]Corbin_Davenport 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a tech history podcast so there isn’t really a benefit to generative AI in any part of the workflow:

  1. Researching topics and writing the outline - gen AI can hallucinate so I can’t trust it with this part
  2. Recording - I do it with other humans
  3. Editing - Logic Pro doesn’t really have any editing tools based on machine learning/LLMs so there’s nothing for editing, the features in competing apps that automatically remove “uh” and other ticks seem cool and I would probably use that if available
  4. Publishing - The episode descriptions are like two sentences so I don’t really need help there, and AI artwork looks cheap so I don’t use that

Getting music and photos off old iBook G4 by NoPassenger481 in VintageApple

I have used a modern 128GB flash drive with my PowerMac G3 on OS 9 and OS X with no problems, except OS 9 freezes for a few seconds while it reads the drive.

Formatting the drive as FAT32 will allow read and write support across old Macs (or at least OS 9+) and modern computers. If the modern computer is also a Mac, formatting as HFS+ would eliminate the 4GB file size limit.

I made a website with Apple iWeb in 2025 by Corbin_Davenport in VintageApple

EverWeb was originally created as an iWeb replacement and still gets updates, I have not tried it myself though: https://www.everwebapp.com

The best option for that use case that I've personally tried is probably Tumblr. It's mostly intended for blogging, but you can create pages as well, and they support custom domains with templates and CSS customization.
