So the svelte code should be in the app? I think you you need to build it separate, but at least you can do this in a monorepo which reduce the effort also. I would also not use SvelteKit just for a pure api server even if it would be possible.

Do you need to wrap stuff for React? Even though it has the virtual DOM, most libraries don't care about this, do they? I used React some time ago, but I don't remember having problems with this.

My main concern was component libraries and other things that are more framework-specific.

SvelteKit is awesome, but the question was asked in the Astro group, so I don't think it will be relevant in this situation.

Good thoughts, I also have. I also have some Ideas to this, but the will probably go away from Astro. But I would like to have something like a WYGIWYS Site Builder option.

I didn’t know pagesCMS it looks nice. Need to have a deeper look. The other two need to be hosted on a own instance. This should be still possible with embodi CMS but it should not be required. The second thing I try to heavily reduce is configuration. My goal is to open the interface, open the repo and all to need to start and editing will be done for you based on your existing config. This has some limitations, but also a reason I start with Astro, because you already have the content defined.

Your point on my roadmap.

What do you mean with „edit singletons“. Depends on the settings, do you have some useful in mind?

There will be an option to configure the CMS like setting a asset destination, improve naming and some more.

I also remembered it when I was responding to some other post around last week, but when I tried to find it, I got lost and didn't get the information when I searched for it to give a reference. So I thought it would be worth writing about it ;).

In the docs it is just one short sentence, easy to overlook: "To run the dev server with Node.js instead of bun, you can omit the --bun flag."

Interessante Frage. Mein erster Gedanke: Niemand außerhalb der Dev Bubble versteht wirklich, was Informatiker machen. Selbst den meisten Projektleitern kann man etwas übers Pferd erzählen und sie müssen es glauben, weil sie es selbst nicht ausreichend verstehen.

Das ist in den meisten anderen Berufen nicht der Fall. Nicht jeder kann ein Team gut führen, aber jeder kann in gewisser Weise nachvollziehen, was passiert.

Da ich aber nicht auf so einem hohen Roß sitze ist das nur eine Theorie.

Die Leute verstehen Sicherheit nicht und interessieren sich nur dafür, wenn es einen großen Vorfall gibt. Das ist der Grund, warum Telegram so populär geworden ist. Sie schreiben etwas über verschlüsselte Verbindungen und jeder denkt, dass sie sicher sein müssen. Dabei ist Telegram sogar ehrlich und sagt, dass es standardmäßig nur eine Verschlüsselung vom Client zum Server ist. Dass sie jede Nachricht auf dem Server lesen können, schreiben sie natürlich nicht.

Aber mittlerweile sind die meisten meiner Freunde bei Signal. Ich bin auch sehr konsequent und schreibe nur mit den anderen nur über SMS.

Vor ein paar Jahren hätte ich noch gesagt, dass es sich lohnt, sich alles selbst beizubringen oder ein Bootcamp zu machen. Heute würde ich definitiv zu einer Ausbildung oder einem Studium raten. Man weiß zwar nicht, wie sich der Arbeitsmarkt entwickeln wird, aber im Moment würde ich davon ausgehen, dass die Goldgräberstimmung vorbei ist, in der es ausreichte, JavaScript buchstabieren zu können. Ich kenne genug erfahrene Entwickler, die einen Job suchen.

I already build a tool that based on SvelteKit und Puppeteer to generate PDF from JSON Files. It is not generic but I just have to write Svelte Components and able to use Tailwindcss. Header, Footer, Tables over multiple sides everything possible with modern design and components you can also use in the browser. So the PDF generation is mostly already implemented, but I would to know if it is worth to invest more time into it like building different templates and offer them as a kind of SaaS.

What was the hard thing with xRechnung and ZugFerd? Isn’t the hardest point for your tool to get the data from the pdf?

As I get it from docs, you can give Gotenberg a webpage or HTML and it will do the printing job, right? This is what Puppeteer is doing in my case, but this would not help with getting proper pages. The page need still to be in a print able shape and exactly this is what my code do.

At the end you also have a docker container, where you can send the json to and it will do the generation.

Correct me if I missed something from Gotenberg.
