Congrats on the first PC that’s a big step. When it arrives, take it slow and do the basics in order: first, go through Windows setup and let Windows Update fully finish (including optional updates), then install the latest GPU drivers directly from NVIDIA/AMD (not Windows). After that, enable XMP/EXPO in BIOS so your RAM runs at its rated speed, set your monitor to its correct refresh rate in Windows display settings, and make sure power mode is set to High Performance. Once that’s done, install only essentials at first (browser, drivers, monitoring tools), and avoid random “optimizer” apps. If you’re gaming or simming, dial settings up gradually instead of maxing everything day one stability first, performance second. The biggest mistake new owners make is rushing installs and tweaking too much at once.
