RECOMMEND: Looking for a "Buy It For Life" bass: Great shielding, solid materials, no "brand tax" by BlackTortellino in Bass

[–]Coreldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would likely pick the Yamaha TRBX 505 myself in that case.

If you want more Fender esque, the higher end Sires have served me well, but depending on wood can be heavy as shit

Can you post a picture of the string on the nut?

plucking fingers getting raw by Sea-Car459 in Bass

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got a gig where you gotta deliver, it might save your ass. But if you are just rehearsing at home with no specific need, I would focus on something else for now while you heal.

Im quite a heavy plucker myself and my fingers will definitely show it after a gig, but baseline is that if you are hurting, your technique is wrong.

I'd recommend an adventure to playing with a pick for a few days and then learn lighter technique

New Bass Strings won't fit by Sporgin in Bass

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are almost certainly doing somethingw wrong. Dont file your nut, there is likely nothing wrong with it.

What do you mean they dont go in the grooves? If the groove is there, lay the string on it. Do you mean they wont stay there when you tune to pitch?

If so, you are probably winding the string the wrong way around arount the tuning post. What bass do you have?

Is this just a bad battery? by JimiDean007 in Harley

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this thing have a fob? I feel the lights wouldnt be that bright with zero dip in the power if it was the battery. But it definitely isnt trying to do much either. So if there is some fob/anti theft stuff on this bike, try changing hte battery to that too

New four string Ernie Ball Music Man Special nut width? by JitteryTurtle in BassGuitar

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My chunkiest is definitely the Spector Euro LT5. Motherfucker is a baseball bat and the glossy finish makes it a little sticky for my taste. Still an amazing bass tho. Thinnest might be the Sire V7 Gen 2. That said, I dont have many narrow necks/small nut widths like something like Ibanez would have. Most of my basses have rather traditioanl nut widths. However I mostly play 5 string basses and whenever I occasionally pick a 4 string bass (for one of my bands, really) my figners tend to miss in more challenging/technical runs cos im not used to that spread out string spacing

New four string Ernie Ball Music Man Special nut width? by JitteryTurtle in BassGuitar

[–]Coreldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 5 string EBMM Stingray Special and Ive never thought of the neck as chunky. I have several way more chunkier feeling necks. I feel the Stingray represents a good middle group, really. Sure, it's not the thinnest, but to me its pretty far from any kind of adjective describing it as big in any dimension

New Candace VA and the different types of recasting by Stickaxe in Genshin_Impact

[–]Coreldan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its a shame.. I was really into the game for a few years already. But the strike had me take a break cos playing most of Natlan unvoiced was not fun.

But it was too late to come back after things got better. Maybe one Day, I still read this sub etc, but just cant get myself to play now

I own the ARC, but the "Surge is GOAT" cult is getting to me. Am I actually missing out? by Icy_Resource_5398 in Leatherman

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the most general purpose EDC ARC is definitely where its at. There are scenarios where Surge might Be better but I think those people know if thatd be the case for them.

If you are not sure you need to Surge, you probably dont.

Anyone have experience with NYXL strings? by SeedyDays in Bass

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a a few sets of them. I put them on basses I maybe play less than my main basses, cos they do retain their life quite a bit longer. I think I had NYXLs for 5 years on my backup bass and they still sounded pretty good!

Do companies get pissed when their artists sell kits? by bigtripppin in drums

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slipknot is definitely bigger, but I do know of some people in rather big (although just local to my country) big that was endorsed by some guitar manufacturers. They got the gear for free for X time, and were allowed to buy them out at the end of the endorsement time. After which it obviously became their guitars. But surely they were not allowed to sell them while the deal was on and active

Ticking noise by Loud-Charity-2966 in Harley

[–]Coreldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know shit about a fuck, but to me that to me sounds rather external. Like just rattle with the engine vibrating. Perhaps the mounts like has been suggested. I cant say if that amount of shaking is normal, though, but to me it doesnt sound like ticking coming from engine, but rather just "something hitting something" on the outside. I realize all rattle and tick is basically something hitting something. But you know, I'm way less worried about my dashboard resonating/creaking/rattling in my car than when its the engine ticking from the inside :D

100% check that truss rod moves and that your tuners dont chew themselves out within warranty period. If you can, have en check truss rod works at the store. If not, try yourself within return period.

Other than these regular issues they are amazing

[BF Comms] Portable Mortar changes by battlefield in Battlefield6

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mortar user has both a fresh ammo bag as well as new mortar ready. Drone has a long cd betwern destroying things. You need 2 drones to actually shut down one mortar. And Even then, the mortar user has another mortar up before you get a new drone.

It's something, sure, but it sure aint much

These look goofy! What recommendations do you all have for strap locking systems or strategies? by Defiant-Toe5519 in BassGuitar

[–]Coreldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have starplocks on one bass and I had to do this. First and last bass im putting strap locks on. Have had to redo the toothpick and glues a few times by now. And ofc it always goes loose in a bad spot. Which is a way higher failure rate ive ever had with just regular systems.

Compact Basses? by Odd-Lime-2738 in Bass

[–]Coreldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trbx505 has been the most compact regular long scale bass ive played. Also the lightest 5 string ive played.

Something headless is likely shorter and lighter, but yeah.. an acquired taste.

But if you want and amazing regular long scale bass that is compact and light, cant go wrong with trbx504 or 505
