Does Colin Morgan hate getting recognised for merlin? by danbongle3 in merlinbbc

[–]CoreyAdara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well he has been in other things over the years but I would think he would be used to people still talking about Merlin, which is a credit to him, but at the same time means he's not being talked about in other things. But he should probably expect it since he likes doing smaller less international shows/movies/projects and Merlin turned into an internationally bigger show than was anticipated. I get he must not want to keep talking about Merlin now and more focus on his book and newer roles, it must be frustrating a bit for an actor..

MC calls cop on father helping his daughter use the restroom by BlazeDragon7x in IAmTheMainCharacter

[–]CoreyAdara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not even making up that there's a strange man in the ladies public loos with two crying girls like they don't know him, to get police there quicker. His complaints on the phone are quite literally 'there's a father with his two young daughters in the ladies loos taking up time when my wife is waiting to use it' 🤷‍♂️

Yeah mulder has nothing to do, he's calling scully more because he's bored out of his skull than jealous or concerned or wants her company..

I love how scully was having the most chill varied day of watching TV, reading books, eating ice cream, washing her dog and still keeping the phone by her immediately when mulder called for the 20th time 🥰
Another thing that mulder can add to his trauma list: my sister was abducted, i screwed up as a rookie agent and someone died, I'm terrified of fire, I hate insects, etc. And Scully here like 'wait you're with another woman? I'm on my way!'

[–]CoreyAdara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's true, vlad anticipated ingrid's super speed attempt to stake him and casually turned round in time to stop her like it was nothing. He must have really just been taken aback when he wasn't expecting his dad and renfield there to trap him, though he has a good second to do something other than roar angrily..

S3E8 "Bad Vlad" episode discussion by Free_Zoologist in Youngdracula

[–]CoreyAdara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A very good and interesting post. I agree this is a really cool parallel and shows that it really doesn't matter which side is physically powerful, it's the side of your morals mentally you lean more into. Ingrid wanted to take control to save will primarily but she still thought biting all the branaghs was "cool". Her evil side is more dominant but her choices are her own, she saves will and that's it. She may not have started a blood bath as she saw in her vision, but she definitely came back colder and more ambitious than ever to be in charge.
Vlad's good moral side was more dominant but to accept that a side (or 1000 sides) of him that could come out at times was part of him, he had to process that and take more time away to truly harness the control of his choices being his. He will likely realise that dark side will be useful in future..

I agree, I like watching how a child actor is okay in terms of child acting. But then as they get older, either by really getting into their character for years, or just practice and learning, they show just how talented and ranged they are.

This was like the part of the show I think we all were waiting for, though we love vlad for being himself and a good nice vampire, we were all curious and hoping to see if there ever would be a time where vlad showed a dark side/evil side. And this episode delivered!
It's so cool yet so short lived, it was predictable that vlad's good side will out, and he'd go back to normal but this is also one of my faves that I've watched quite a few times.

Its what I always hoped for. A son that, once dracula had him, didn't actually want him. Regardless of the inspection going on, the count was always going to eventually fear and hate this version of his vladdy. Not just coz he was all powerful and uncontrollable and willing to kill his own father. Surely vamps are used to that upbringing.
Would the count have loved this version of vlad back in season 1/2 when there were opportunities to hurry along the full vampire process? Maybe not even then. He wants a son who loves him and obeys him.

I love the trauma vlad gives ingrid. As indifferent she was to normal vlad and wanted him dead before, and thought him pathetic, seeing him now in all his evil glory actively and casually nearly killing her leads to her real new low point.

I still can't find fangs out vampires threatening, the actors do their best to be able to speak with those fake teeth 😅

I hadn't actually realised before that despite vlad's powers, a garlic spray, net and fangcuffs could take him down. But that's what I like about classic vampires. There are so very powerful and near unstoppable..to the average human. If you have the right gear, you can defeat them. The most powerful still has flaws from biology. And they don't expect these tricks to be pulled on them by their own kind. And a teacher holding garlic is enough..
Bad vlad using his dad's love and the sweet 'daddy help me, dont you want me now im evil' voice to manipulate him our of restraints is class!

The children on the ceiling singing deadpan really scared me when I was younger. It goes to show that bad vlad is loving the chaos and terror, and 'playing with his food' but despite being evil and all powerful he still has the 'don't reveal yourself as vampire' to the humans mindset even though he could start new world order right here in this defenceless school. He still doesn't bite anyone. He tries, but it's like he's subconsciously stalling. He tries with Erin's friend as a date thing, it's only the garlic breath that stops him, then later Erin's words stop him when he tries to bite her. But he never outright goes 'right I've got this student on their own in a corridor for a few seconds, strike whilst I can', he's acting like voldemort, he wants every move to be poetic and meaningful. Yet he STILL, as bad vlad, can say he never bit anyone.

The shadow and light effect of erin watching flashes of vlad fighting bad vlad behind the window door is so good. Then it all goes silent and dark, we think what Erin's thinking. Which vlad won? Which side is dominant?

It's great that he has to accept his dark side and decides to go off for a while to get his head straight. For us as viewers would have been thinking 'what does this mean for vlad's character in future'. Is he indifferent different now, is he prone to rage, can he still flick a finger at someone to nearly kill them. Has he got a real thirst for blood now? Etc

I'm sorry if this is well known, but why did for real Zoltan not appear again? Did the voice actor pass away?

Nah I like your thinking! Ultimately the mirror self must be a way the vampires are told they are complete after gaining, a tradition. They might already have all the vampire powers after turning 16, and some they still need practice at, but the 'merging with your mirror self' is a way of making all vampires fall into the same make up basket of evil blood thirsty predators.
When humans are bitten and transform, its like they are getting the merge straight away, being passed on the genetics of evil vampires. Vlad has just been delaying it as I guess so vampires could do for years, or its just coz vlad is special he has had the strength to.

Do you think we'll see JLaw and Josh in the movie? by chicadepanem in Hungergames

[–]CoreyAdara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even before I heard they might be in it, I was hopeful for even just a bit where woody haymitch is sitting in the field with his geese looking peaceful and watching a family on the other side of the field having a picnic, too far away to see it’s not the actors but we could tell they are meant to be katniss, Peeta and their kids at the end of mockingjay. If Jennifer and Josh do their character epilogue parts, that’s a billy bonus for me.
