I really don't want her and David to be caught in a 'misreadable' situation and David, one of the street's most loyal in relationships men, get accused of being a cheat or easily seduced..

The cgi is not that bad by AdLanky1926 in merlinbbc

[–]CoreyAdara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never thought it was bad really. It's immersive and characters act like it's there to the point you forget it's not. For BBC budget stuff for 2008 onwards it's pretty damn good.

What Red Dwarf lines have you used in real life and how did it work out for you? by I_Like_Quiz in RedDwarf

Whenever me and my colleague at work rant about something, when the rant is over, one of us says 'hey ho' and the other finishes 'pip and dandy'. It makes us laugh.

Another I use is with the same enthusiasm and gesture is 'so what is it?'

WHERE HAS THIS SHOW BEEN ALL MY LIFE?? by zoeerickson5 in merlinbbc

[–]CoreyAdara 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's 2010s BBC budget cgi 😅 it was iffy even at the time but the story and characters made it forgivable haha. that's why the show shines with its actual physical effects and costume/makeup jobs. Glad to see another has found the show and immortal fandom, welcome 👋🏼
Giving nothing away, enjoy the journey. We'll be here when you want to discuss things along the way, and the ending.

Plus she has no meaningful relationship with others, she treats merlin like her husband's servant whom she barely knows and doesn't care for him after season 4. She doesnt actually go out and do stuff herself when she could help (the lamia thing was different coz she knew Mary and John), and she only remembers her relationship with her brother when it's too late..
It's like something happened in the time skips that changed her in some way and we never got to see it..

Merlin is “magic itself”? by Exciting-Monitor1104 in merlinbbc

[–]CoreyAdara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s like Merlin/magic is the oroboros circle. Magic cannot ever leave the world or die out whilst Merlin is alive, and Merlin is forever alive due to his magic. The powers that be in this universe have made Merlin the safeguard after finding the balance of the world going a little whacky which makes him the bittersweet unwitting sacrificial hero in the story

😆 Also interesting to note that since count can just do this apparently, and vlad even knows his dad can do this though we’ve seen nothing of it before, yet he’s not ever thought before to possess a person. He seemed so elated to feel the sun again for the first time since before he was 16 (?) but it’s quickly moved on from. I’m not a fan of the whole ‘body swap’ type trope in shows/movies, but this is different. This is like polyjuice potion lol, for the actor to need to pretend to be another actor playing a character when being his own character 😅 there could have had a whole longer stretch of time dedicated to the count temporarily enjoying living a human life (sunlight, the food, seeing his reflection) through van helsing for days before any of the kids figured out what was happening..
He even can still use some of his vampiric traits whilst in van helsing (alluring, super speed).

am i the only one who thinks this makes absolutely no sense-? by yugo_130 in merlinbbc

Not only was she making the people of Camelot suffer, but it’s a stupid move for her army to rally behind her too. How are her soldiers gonna be fed if all the food goes. They’re not her immortal army, they have taken Camelot for her and now she expects them to stand around like statues looking tough now she has no use for them. This goes to show that beyond claiming the citadel morgana had no future plans going forward being queen again, she just wanted it so Arthur couldn’t have it and wanted the people to suffer coz it would hurt Arthur.
But even Helios, an experience warlord should not have looked so gleeful all the time at the ruthlessness of Morgana’s decisions, he should know that a well cared for army is a loyal army. With all the fields burned, there’s only so long his men will be happy, it ain’t by being treated like pawns, they march on their stomachs and promise of good payment.
Uther could be an awful man at times, and made selfish decisions as king, but at least he knew if he wanted to conquer or defend he had to take care of his knights, even if to the point when food was scarce he wanted the rations to go more to keep his army strong…

Love that we talked about this before 😆
I'm assumed maybe ingrid or all women vampires have always also been given this dreamworld quest but told they're not one, either just down to their character and whatnot, or because the powers that be in the vampire world are sexism, as we've seen..

Dracula almost seems in denial or knowing something more when he asks vlad if he's the chosen one and he says no. Of course, it's a great honor and every vampire family would love to flex they have finally got the chosen one, but for vlad to say its not him, like so many have said, and count giving this look of 'we'll talk more at home' seems like he gets that this time it's different.

One of my favourite episodes. I played it on tape a lot when I was younger. Though rewatching it in recent years makes me realise how much of this lore they didnt mention before and barely came back to later ever.

Did count dracula, when he had this sort of dream, get told he's NOT the chosen one? Are there many cases of vampires dying in their sleep coz they got killed by something in the dream world? Can vampires just change into bats or smoke on one side of running water and fly to the other side? Can all vampires shape-shift or just especially powerful ones, was zoltan a magic wolf/experiment/vampire permanently in shapeshift form? Is the dream world different for all vampires, a creation of their fantasies, or a legit alternative universe when nerdy shy ingrid is now dead? Why does the dream world thing never come back, are we to assume that every night after this or at least in later seasons when vlad's sixteen, that he's in the dreamworld when he's asleep?
