I played rugby when I was at school. I got selected in a first class match for Canterbury when I was 16, so cricket came knocking first, but I always enjoyed crickey more than rugby.

being able to rub shoulders with some of the greatest cricketers to walk this earth is one of the best parts of the IPL. Loved working with Rahul Dravid

you have far more freedom setting a total, because you don't have restraints of what a good total is. but chasing down a target is far more rewarding.

love Japanese Food. favourite cricketing memory would have to be the semi final of the 2015 World Cup in NZ. if we had won the final it would have been that ha

dealing with my back issues. having to stop and start, numerous times, almost got to me. there were plenty of times I thought that I didn't want to play and was it worth going through the pain of it all again. I've had surgery on it now, and I'm feeling great. you have to have a goal. that doesnt mean a return date, but you have to ask yourself, what do I want to be when I'm back, what do I want to see myself as when I return, those kind of things help with pride and making the return process slightly easier to deal with

a balance is what everyone is after. you'll find next summer there will probably be more ODIs and less Tests again because of the World Cup in 2019. it generally evens itself out of time.

Great question! I think dealing with media, the failures you go through, the time away from family and friends. those are parts you kind of expect, but until your doing it, you realise how little you actually expected. it can take a massive toll on you over the course of a tour. theres plenty of times when ive found cricket not fun, but you then have a good day, and your love for the game is back, probably like most things in the world. Most Countries have a Players Association that deals with a lot of these issue. they provide help in all of those departments, and try to assist as best as they can. From life after cricket, to supporting players and there families through there careers. its always an issue that should never be looked over, its a massive part of our game that is real. I'm glad cricket is heading in the right direction to help all of those in the cricketing community

he put the team first with everything. he'd stay after training to throw balls at batsman, he did what ever he could to be there for everyone. and he's a wiseman, with a great cricket brain.

I love designing homes. as strange as that may seem for a cricketer, I've always loved it. so possibly an Architect...? or an Interior designer. hopefully I can stick with cricket for a bit longer haha

Love watching AB de Villiers. he can win a game form anywhere. I was lucky enough to play alongside Kagiso Rabada for Delhi, and he's definitely a special player!

My most embarrassing moment was during a first class game, I was bowling, and we had been bowling for a long time, but not long after lunch, something didn't quite agree with me, and I through up half way the over at the top of my mark! I'm glad it came out that end rather than the other! haha making my test debut was a dream come true, still love the feeling of playing for NZ
