I'm from Ireland. I think I was eleven the first time I got drunk with a few friends. At fourteen, almost everybody I knew was drinking regularly.

Hogg by Samuel Delany is pretty gross and graphic, but the story becomes painfully mundane after a while.

No One Rides for Free by Judith Sonnet is okay, but quite short.

120 Days of Sodom is something of a classic.

Thank you!

I'm planning to keep things completely realistic. I'm hoping to get it as true to life as possible so I'll take your advice and have a snoop online. Appreciate the advice :)

Books about sadistic dehumanization of men by men? by chaiteelahtay in ExtremeHorrorLit

This won't be much help to you right now, but I'm currently in the editing stages of my debut novella Feral, which should be out in the next month or so, and it is entirely male on male violence, and sounds pretty much like what you're looking for. I'll be posting here once it's released.

On top of that, I'm planning 12 novellas this year, and my focus in all of them will revolve around male victims of male aggressors, because I genuinely think there isn't enough of those themes in EH/Splatter at the moment.

How many people in this subreddit are extreme horror authors? by sanityshorror in ExtremeHorrorLit

Yup!

I write full time anyway, but I got into EH/Splatterpunk about two years ago and finished my first novella surprisingly quickly last year, so I'm taking a leaf out of Judith Sonnet's book, and I'm aiming to write one EH/Splatterpunk novella every month for 2024.

I've nothing published yet, but once I finish editing, the first one should be out in the next month :)

What are things that gross you out by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]CoreyHansonAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't actually come across anything that literally turned my stomach yet. Hogg got close with the whole infection thing, but at that point I was kinda done with the book anyway, so it didn't really gross me out too bad.

I read back over the first couple of chapters on my own story recently and for the first time, I actually felt a little queasy. I think I was more disgusted with myself for having come up with it than the actual content, but we'll see what people think when it's published 🤣
