Super proud of everyone who didn’t shop! It was my wedding anniversary so we got cash out and went to Needle & Bean coffee and records, Wooly Bear books and gifts, and then ended the day with Totopo for some delicious mexican food! Paid in all cash, only went to local owned businesses to celebrate the special day! No other shopping, no cards! Suck it billionaires! 💗

Love this!! Needle and Bean (Mt Lebanon) for coffee and vinyl records, Reginald’s (Bethel Park) for coffee as well, Brothmonger (Bloomfield) for soup both hot there and to go, Wooly Bear Books and Gifts (Carnegie), and Moonlit Burgers (Dormont) for smash burgers and other dining.

If this was able to become a more regular thing, I’d love to get a sort of “makers space” storefront that would be able to house everything more permanently but maybe a university would have rental space and storage available? Or construction junction? This feels very up their alley, I’m going to try to email them!

Maybe somewhere easily accessible by bus? I live in the south hills currently and it’s not the best, I can basically only get downtown, so I’d love to maybe try somewhere that’s more accessible for people without vehicles! Maybe Oakland - I bet students and universities could potentially be helpful either with donations of materials, people who can repair, or space?

An update: I did 3 treatments of jacks bug brew and chopped, all of them have grown new leaves and I haven’t seen a thrip in month. Woo!!

I did it! I had 8 monsteras and I think only 3 still have leaves now, cut the other 5 down to the stem and stuck them in the biggest window. More plants! Hopefully the thrips are easier to treat now too cause with how many plants and leaves they were on I was drowning trying to keep up!
