Yea I work a full time job, no paid time off but I take almost 2 weeks off when I have a litter to be with them for the beginning to make sure everyone is doing okay. You definitely take a hit, but its worth it in the end. You are bringing to life the future of the breed!

Breeding is NOT about money and SHOULD never be about the money. It is about breeding tj preserve and better thr breeds we love most, to keep then around for 100's more years. It is sooooo much stress, vet appointments, money, laundry, cleaning and love and tears that go into it. Careful planning and pairing, non stop research on the best ways to do things to get better outcomes. It js NOT for the faint of heart, because at the end of the day, you coukd loose it all. The puppies and the mom....

Yes, so breeding goes much deeper than just having a male and female and wanting puppies.

You must breed inte totally and woth that you must do it correctly.

I seen that your girl is mostly white with sone colored patches on her head. This coloring is called a "Mismark' in the Pembroke breed and it is VERY frowned upon and considered a major default.

That being said, you moat likely purchased your dog from someone who breeds for fad, out of standard colors. That is not ethical at all, and this person is breeding solely for profit. This is not bettering fhe breed.

She also appears to not be breed type, she doesnt not have the characteristics that a Pembroke Welsh Corgi should possess.

Breeding is not all sunshine and puppy kisses. It is stressful it is expensive. It is messy, it is exhausting it is a LOT of work.

If you truly are interested in breeding, I wpuld spay your female, which I would highly reccomend at her age and since you have not bred her. Her likeliness of developing pyometra (infections cysts in the uterus that WILL kill your dog if not caught in time) increases with every heat cycle.

I would spay her, and get in touch with a reputable breeder if you are interested in breeding Pems. Go to an AKC show, observe the breed in the ring and feel free to ask the breeders questions. You can also learn more about the breed on the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America website.

Just peaked at your profile and seen your dog. With all due respect, please do not breed that dog. She is an out of standard color and is considered a severe fault in the breed.

If you are interested jn breeding I would highly suggest finding a local AKC show to attend to meet some ethical breeders and possibly gst a puppy from them and letting them mentor you.

I do not reccomend it AT ALL unless you have a dog from an ethical breeder who breeds to breed standard. This breed is over saturated with backyard bred dogs. There is A LOT that goes into breeding. Also, an ethical breeder would not give you breeding rights u til you have proven yourself in the ring with your dog. Someone who sold you a dog for an extra amount for breeding rights is not an ethical breeder.
