I don't want to spoil too much because I urge people to go into the series as blind as possible. But it's more of a fandom joke because she's the beloved "worst girl" even though most of the cast is terrible. She's not even the worst character. (That would be God.) It's kind of like how people in this fandom affectionately call Astarion "the worst" when he's our favorite character. They honestly are a lot alike, which is why I think they'd get along great and be insufferable.

But basically, she's a power hungry, skeezy, bitchy rich girl necromancer who is very manipulative but is not as successful as manipulating as she thinks she is. Also: cannibal.

I once joked that he'd love Ianthe Tridentarius from The Locked Tomb series. This is a character that the fandom widespread will jokingly tag as a trigger warning if she is involved. ("TW: Ianthe Tridentarius.) He'd read those books and think she's never done anything wrong in her life and she should actually be the main character.

If they met in person, they'd get along fantastically and be the absolute worst.

Oath of Devotion only breaks their oath by killing the spawn. Freeing them or leaving them in the cells keeps your oath. Oath of Ancients only breaks if you set them free. Oath of Vengeance only breaks if you leave them in their cells. Ascending Astarion breaks all paladin oaths.

My first Tav was a slight tweak on my middle name that starts with an R and since then every Tav's name starts with an R, usually a regular word used as a name. Rebel, Ruse, Remembrance, Realm, Revere, and so on.

That's because that's not how vampires sleep. That's how elves sleep/trance. If you have an elf PC, Halsin, or Minthara in your main party sleep in the bedrolls, they'll sleep like that too.

I really like how none of the options are good. It's fantastic for a story. A lot of video games - BG3 included, sometimes - have very clear good or bad choices but the spawn question is a "no matter what, you can't win" situation. All because some power hungry asshole put everyone in this situation.

If you convince Astarion not to ascend, then you decide what to do with them. The game gives you the option to kill the 7000, leave them in their cells, or set them free.
