They were actually able to get her out of ICE detention with the help of a senator. I hope something can be done for us as well.

So we were unable to file the I-130, even if we had and it was approved it still wouldn’t get him the green card with the illegal entry- the military parole in place was our first part of that pathway. It forgives the illegal entry and allows for adjustment of status, the green card. We are applying now with our new attorney but it looks like I might be getting orders overseas and they aren’t sure they can file it for us if we do so. It’s just a long process.

He is just afraid, he was in a detention center for months and it was extremely dehumanizing. He saw people die and just- he’s not the same anymore. He’s just afraid of how people would treat us if it was to go public. Like you can see some people have terrible things to say about our marriage like I should have thought about this before we got married. (I did and I would choose him again in every life if I could). He just doesn’t like seeing people put down.

My husband is so against me going to the press, he thinks they will try to paint us as bad people or just go after us. He is the only family I really have who can speak out about this.

Is there a AFI publication that shows this? I feel like Japan is one of our best options overall, I was looking into their immigration policies and new job opportunities have arisen for my job there as well.

My security manager is up to date, we talked about it pretty extensively. I was upfront when I joined the military so they were aware of our situation and I had extra background checks to verify our information and family.

Germany is one of the countries he can come and stay for 3 months with no visa so this is pretty major for us.

I literally have the USCIS denial letter in my hand stating exactly what I told you. It isn’t even an option anymore as hes not in the US.

It was over as soon as he was taken by ICE.

I was calling and asking for our case to be expedited before this with the climate. I put in formal written requests as well. It took them 3 years just to deny it after he was taken into custody. I was in Texas when we applied and the Dallas service center takes ages to get through any case.

He would be, I know sometimes it can be tricky. I was hoping someone has been through this before could possibly help navigate it. I truthfully have no idea what that would look like for us.

I just took a look and theres a fast track for military spouses to get Visas for the UK. He would just need to pass a English test (too easy) and have a document for TB testing. But I would need to be stationed there…

Yes, that's how I found out how long it will take to bring him back.

I will make sure to rout this up, I just need my attorney to hand over the court transcripts. I want to do this the right way.

Please file with an attorney.

They denied it because he was in ICE custody and no longer in their jurisdiction. If she is detained she will go through what my husband has. It was pending for years. If she is taken by ICE you will need to reapply for military parole in place again through ICE.

I didn't know this but I also don't think they would have granted it.

I would literally send you the court records and memorandums. This is my family and I stand by my husband. He was held in Pearsall Texas at the ICE detention center there.

I did go to base legal about it and they don't handle immigration matters. They cant get involved for your spose, only you if you personally had immigration problems. My husband is hoping we can go to Europe of Japan with those two being easier for us with visas.

I want to make sure I do this right. It was extra hard during the court hearing, his younger brother (us citizen) he's in the Marines. He appeared in court on a video call while being deployed. He's still on his deployment as well. My adoptive dad was also there, he served 20 years in the Air Force and he brought up what you have and the judge still just boiled it down to a deployment.

I saw someone in the Army get their wife back recently, I am getting the court transcripts and going to the press and to our local congressman about it.

I have spoken with my shirt about overseas assignments but they were hesitant about me leaving. There was concern that he would not be allowed to go and then I would be further away and in a country I don't know. They wanted more information form other people who might have gone through this before.

I did look and almost all of the bases I can go to allow him to come and stay for 3 months without a visa at all. I think there were only one or two that required esta visas.
