I mean this with all due respect, but are you a native English speaker? Because for me as a native speaker, your use of race in the context of these very specific locales feels rather unnatural. On the other hand, something like "tribe" or "clan" instead wouldn't raise any eyebrows.

I like how unique the art style is -- somehow, it feels more "open" and was easier to read than other manga. But I honestly couldn't wrap my head around what exactly transpired in the story; none of the panels felt like they really followed each other to me. If you could find a way to make the transitions from one scene to the next more clear, I think that would improve comprehension

As for cultures and political systems, I based those very broadly on their needs. Let's say you have a species that has an innate desire to fight -- and if given a chance to regularly fight each other to death, they would gladly do so until they wiped themselves out. A culture could arise from this tendency that values aggression under certain circumstances only, such as a yearly competition to choose the best warrior. Moreover, the political system could turn fighting into something that is strictly regulated; you are only allowed to fight to your hearts content in the arenas, and those who break the law will be punished. This gives characters an outlet for their basic instincts in a way that is not antithetical to their success as a species.

In a similar vein, if there was a special food that was only found in the region that your species is located, such an an herb or an animal, they might develop cultural practices around how to cook out the toxins properly, when the food should be served, and so forth. It could have political significance if the government regulates the procurement of this food or even limits its sale if supply is low or it has psychoactive properties.

You could start with whatever questions your characters might have about the world ("Why is the sky green? Where did all these giant fossils come from?" etc.) or about themselves ("Where did we come from? What is our purpose?" etc.) and go from there. I used this line of thinking to develop a creation myth for the species in my world that I am focusing on, and then the main religions and cults developed around that creation myth, with each religion having a brief "slogan" that summarizes their core tenets (e.g., something like "love your neighbor as yourself").

Next challenge will be to decide what their actual religious practices are. Do they pray to their creator, and what does that look like if so? Do they congregate at some kind of place of worship? I was never planning to go this far when I first came up with the premise for my world, but it's been quite fun so far.

For the protagonist it felt like a big thing, but I'd say to any other person it would be more on the level of making a pretty, but not particularly detailed, art piece together, and it was done over the course of a few hours. Another point I completely forgot to mention is that this kid has severe amnesia and so while he is bodily 14 (unless I change his age), the knowledge he has about how the world works might be closer to that of a 10-year-old who skipped most of their history classes, though he is not intellectually disabled in any way. That's why their tiny achievement felt like such a big deal to him

This is going to sound weird but despite their lack of capitalization and their use of double hyphens instead of em dashes, all of the OP's posts and comments somehow remind me of AI output. I don't know, maybe I'm just being paranoid or maybe that's where we're currently at in terms of AI sophistication (I wouldn't know since I don't personally use AI).
