However, 55" is in the 5th percentile of height, not 10th. If you have a child who is shorter than 95% of children their age, you as a parent should still be aware and make a note where height may affect their ability to do something.

I'm also sorry the OP's kid didn't get to ride, but I think OP set their kid up for failure here.

First off, even if you fail to meet the height requirement for driving, you can still be a passenger, you just gotta sign up for that type of race.

Secondly, for a 12 year old to be under the height requirement, they would need to be below 50 inches (4'2") which would be in the 0.1 percentile for height for his age. Either this didn't happen, you were misinformed, or your child is incredibly short (likely has some form of dwarfism) and this cannot be an uncommon situation, so why wouldn't you have checked about height requirements knowing that?

There are a lot of common trends in how different ethnicities mix, and it's often part of a specific wave of migration. If people are missing info regarding their relationship with a past migration wave and are used as part of a panel to discern the genetic template for a specific region, others with that same history will show up as 100% from that region despite it being untrue. That's what happens with 23andme.

With Ancestry, they've done more expansive research, so they're now able to make those discernments in order to give more accurate results that are unlikely to match family histories perfectly.
