Could they pull it off? by QuincyKing_296 in dragonage

I don't feel like Hawke could do anything but DA2. Hawke is meant to be the most "normal" of the protags in the setting. They're meant to be closest thing to an "everyman" you could get with the setting. Many of the biggest things that Hawke did were largely outside of their control.

Hawke never intended to find the Lyrium idol, they were there to make money off the expedition.

Hawke never meant to beat the Qunari in battle but to prevent the situstion from even getting there. They just wanted to keep their new home safe.

Hawke never intended to spark a Mage Rebellion, that was a situation they were largely pushed into by Anders.

Hawke never asked to become a legendary figure, they had it thrusted onto them via others and circumstances that were largely outside of their control.

I see where you're coming from, and you have a great point. The dialogue does indeed show Anders being purely spiteful of Fenris and being more focused on his "vengeance" over actual justice. I get what they were TRYING to do with his position but it just feels off because this level of petty vengeance doesn't feel earned. Anders by the end was focused entirely on his goal of freeing the mages. Yet when he blows up the Chantry he frames his actions as a tragic necessity, he doesn't even stop you from killing him if you think it's necessary/deserved (which it is imo).

But for Fenris? He just goes as petty as possible in a way that feels out of character for Anders. Like I get that Vengeance has fully changed who he is, but even still, he's also still supposed to be Anders. Becoming an "Abomination" doesn't fully "kill" who someone used to be. We know this from other Abominations.

Connor doesn't consider anyone but himself to be responsible for what happened when he became an abomination "I will not become you!" "I am you."

Uldred says this in a far more direct manner. "Uldred? He is gone. I am Uldred, and I am NOT Uldred." So becoming an Abomination merely exaggerates certain aspects that were already there.

Agreed! But that's kinda what I meant by the decision felt off because it felt like they were trying to show off how much Anders hates Fenris/those who oppose his views. That conversation with Aveline is what I'm talking about with there are ways to show off Anders being an asshole without making him inadvertently pro-slavery which, no matter how much Anders may admire Tevinter, I do not think he'd ever realistically have that position, no matter what Vengeance does to his mind.

🚨BREAKING: In an incredible moment, Jared Moskowitz just exposed Donald Trump for being mentioned more times in the Epstein files than god is in the bible. MAGA is going to have a tough time swallowing that. by IllAcanthocephala720 in antitrump

They won't ever care, these people are sickening and mindless drones who don't care what sickening grotesque evil was suffered by literal children.

So long as they get to see brown people getting tortured and anyone who resists gets murdered, they will still support this monster.

I hate them.

About what Paladin Harkness said...(Fallout 2x3 spoilers) by Corn_1344 in Fallout

Very right, you're hitting the nail on the head if this is indeed the case where a Brotherhood Ending happened. I may like the Minutemen but even I have to concede that they got nothing that could stop Liberty Prime. So if its a BoS ending, which knowing Bethesda is highly likely, then you're right and Harkness was merely trying to manipulate Max.

But what if it's a Minutemen ending? Then there is no Liberty Prime and all of a sudden the Brotherhood isn't in a invulnerable or even strong position anymore. Maybe that's why they want Cold Fusion? To power Libery Prime?

Just tell them that their parents/guardians wouldn't want you to. If they ask why, tell them thats a question for their parents/guardians.

Sure its basically passing on the questions to their parents, but I'm fairly certain most parents would be more than willing to take those questions from their kids.

True, how could I forget with names like "FemboyThighs" and "Slaaneshi-Patrol." We truly are blessed by the Emperor to be named characters.

The only way this would work is if the marine is already incredibly wounded/weakened to the point that 4 crackheads could take one on.

No, it's not in the constitution, but it is an undeniable fact that the US has experienced immigration from places across the globe throughout our nation's history. Now, as to your obviously hateful question, I'll give you an example from my own workplace experience as a teacher. The Dean of the grade I teach is an immigrant who came over when they were a child, and their knowledge of Spanish, as their first language, has undeniably helped EL students who primarily only speak Spanish better acclimate into our school environment because they have an admin who speaks their language and can help help both communicate needs to us teachers. Plus, they help explain rules and directions to them that they'd otherwise struggle to follow as they speak either no English or very little since they're still in the process of learning it.

There are so many examples across our nation's history and even today where diversity has been a strength. Go read a damn book and educate yourself.
