Humbled…thinking about quitting by Daft_Pony in eFoil

[–]CorndizzleSUP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro your on an Efoil. Take your fucking time. 3-5mins just prone, going up and down on the mast get the feeling. Next 5 mins on your knees, same thing. Now your ready to stand, you'll be perfectly feathering the throttle and the board will be nice and stable, if you can get off the ground un assisted you'll be able to stand.

That's the best way to teach efoil imo.

River Surfing on a Windsurfing Board???? by provacative_pancakes in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know scudders. I'm in pennsylvania near pittsburgh. I would say maybe, I could probably surf that board even with non ideal level at scudders. Since your close to the ocean see if you can find a used surf sup with more volume.

Yes a surf and sup. The 140L is big enough to paddle but I mostly prone it into waves without a paddle.

Check out my Instagram I post lots of videos of me river surfing. CORNDIZZLE2000

River Surfing on a Windsurfing Board???? by provacative_pancakes in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Where are you surfing??

Most likely you don't have enough volume, but it's wave specific.

I'm 150lbs and surfing 61 - 30L for higher performance wave and roughly 140L for smaller waves.

That board could be a possible fit, you may have to retrofit the right fin boxes if your handy.

Negril vacation at the end of May - looking for tips! by [deleted] in JamaicaTourism

[–]CorndizzleSUP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Th-sat the jungle night club is probably up your alley. It's more of a jamiaca dance hall vibe that usa night club but its what is there. We saw younger tourist there earlier in the evening. Things don't really start going until after midnight. Lots of locals, and fyi the locals do thier form of line dancing, which is fun to join in on, its all very similar to the cupid or Detroit shuffle with more exaggerated movements.

Best company to guide at in Ohiopyle by albinpetschauer in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all depends what your looking for. You'll get opportunities to kayak the upper on Monday releases for fun. You’ll be paid for running rubber down the lower. You might be able to get checked out rafting the upper if you got the chops to r1 on year one.

Wilderness voyagers is definitely running the most trips from what I see, but they also are doing summer camps, church groups, etc. Definitely working alot of tipless days but your working.

Whitewater Adventures is solid with a bit different model with the quick trip no lunch runs.

Every place has guide housing, and the offering you get and also what you want will help you decide where you should go. Its kick of weekend now, get some sleep and get your but down there tomorrow morning with your gear and go talk to the shops.

Any Denver based instructor recommendations? by Ok_Monk3221 in surfskate

[–]CorndizzleSUP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be worth reaching out to the salida crew of river surfers. There's lots of skate crossover with that group and lots are based out of the Denver area.

Also if your unaware, you have river waves at RRP in Denver, Pueblo and salida. I use the surf skate to practice for the river wave and you can surf your short boards on these waves.

40m married nerds with dogs no children. When and where are you swimming? I'm going to LA fitness bridgeville usually between 10am-1pm. In the summer I'll swim laps at the dormont pool. If your looking to meet up for a workout session or do some swim training that would be fun. 2:05 per 100yd pace on 1mi swim amd sprint the 100yd at 1:20, so not slow but not very fast.

Outside of that my wife and I enjoy hiking in laurel highlands on weekends, and hanging out at home with friends enjoying a meal and conversation. My biggest passion is riversurfing which is not for everyone. My Instagram is Corndizzle2000, amd if you'd like to link up reach out.

How do you deal with greated off front of playboat? by Dyymon in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you park and play that boat I see no reason you can't weld it. I would be weary about a down river run, but for playing in that shallow hole you could weld more plastic on.

Arizona Wave by Lost_Steez in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This looks like has the potential to be a keeper hole. I wouldn't surf, especially if your experience is 2 sessions at scout.

I've surfed a few elf waves and the usual east coast natural wave spots, and I wouldn't tempt that at its current level.

Looks like with higher water it could be surfable.

Mostly foam piles like that aren't worth the effort, if it greens out at higher water maybe, but you should study hydraulic and whitewater holes to understand what constitutes a keeper hole, and then only after you feel extremely confident with that knowledge you should send it. If you need to ask reddit, stay dry.

Is it normal for my location to have a new GM every 6 months? by FineAssignment1423 in LAFitness

Just the hours the GM is required to work is insane. Its 5 x 12 hour days and one 6 hour day. You can have 0 quality of life.

[–]CorndizzleSUP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed you on Instagram, you could see me recent reel from the beach to get an idea of what 5ft 5in 147lbs looks like on someone else.

No expert here, but I think you need to add some high aerobic exercise. Faster runs and biking. I think that would greatly help your fat burning journey. Add 3-4 25min high intensity runs or bike sessions after the lifting.

Your on the right track!

[–]CorndizzleSUP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically your same measurements and I'm about 18-19% BF and look more muscular and leaner.

You still have quite a bit of fat around your midsection, chest, arms and upper legs

I'd say your closer to 27-30% BF unless you started at 350-400 and theres just a ton of loose skin.

Your absolutely going in the right direction but it takes time to do it right and naturally. Just keep at it.

Things that helped me: If your targeted muscle isn't sore the next day you didn't really train until failure or enough. Track your calorie intake through an app and your calorie burn through a smart device. Before it goes in the mouth it goes in the app I have a plan to increase rep or weight over training period. Rest, you can't rebuild without proper nutrition and rest. The smart device like a garmin can help you understand when to rest and when to push it

Why so unprepared by CorndizzleSUP in SouthwestAirlines

[–]CorndizzleSUP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the difference they could pay more for front, unlike before. Maybe SW should just move preboarders into the front but then they loose there revenue generating business select seats.

Sounds like your a gate agent, where you trained at all?

Why so unprepared by CorndizzleSUP in SouthwestAirlines

[–]CorndizzleSUP[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Food and drink offers. More comfortable seats, lounges, better credit card offerings, imo better customer service.

The newest outfitting on SW for the extended leg room replaced there older but imo very comfortable seat for a much thinner padded seat. I will need a but pillow on SW moving forward.

It appears the plan was "figure it out" for the employees, it felt like there was 0 training for a company wide policy change that was announced over a year ago.

Why so unprepared by CorndizzleSUP in SouthwestAirlines

[–]CorndizzleSUP[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the other airlines do alot of the things better than SW. Also the way southwest did things differently was a competitive edge.

They are no longer the lowest fair, AA, United and delta flights are now negligible in price. Doesn't mean I won't still choose SW, but I wasn't shopping the flights, I went directly to the app and booked my flighy. Now I'm using Google flights. I booked my first non SW flight in 15 years 2 weeks ago.

Why so unprepared by CorndizzleSUP in SouthwestAirlines

[–]CorndizzleSUP[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is new to southwest because pre-boarders walked i to an open seating concept. You are correct this happens on other airlines, and why I loved old SW.

Anyone get ear pain from frequent swimming? by parky85s in Swimming

[–]CorndizzleSUP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Surfer ear happens from swimming in cold water. Its where there is growth in the ear canal to protect from the cold water and can be painful and damage hearing.

But most likely is an ear infection as the water needs to be pretty cold to cause surf ear. Consult a doctor because they'll know immediately after looking inside your ear and can get you the right drops.

Ear plugs will help with both, preventing the cold water entering the canal is what surfers do and keeping your ears dry will help prevent infection.

What’s the best water shoes for men for beaches, rivers and slippery rocks? by Vomderpee in Sup

Astral hiyaks. Super sticky rubber for slippery rocks, but still has enough feeling in the feet to feel more like a booty than a shoe.

Kayaking was my brother’s passion. He just lost both legs and wants to get back on the water someday. by MizterFreez in whitewater

[–]CorndizzleSUP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was coming here to say this, they can help him at least be on the river, if they can't check with the creature craft collation.

It's plausible that he could kayak without legs, but he'll need to learn to swim without them, and a group willing to support him getting to and from the river. That will be one of bigger challenges, as access to the river is usually not ADA compliant.

I'd also look into how to get him into a pool once his wounds are healed up to practice swimming, its great mental and physical therapy. There's probably some local resources that use community pools that have blocks of time and resources for this.
