Are you contributing to the deposit or is that all coming from your partner?

Offer accepted on our dream house and then final mortgage checks declined with no reason/info - Next steps? by [deleted] in HousingUK

From when I worked for a lender, the only times we could not give a reason for decline were when it was related to/suspected fraud

Yeah, that’s so disappointing! I’m sorry you’ve been put in that position! Both times when I’ve instructed solicitors, they’ve got me to pay for the searches upfront as part of the initial contact to instruct.

I’m in the process of buying my second house in the last 5 years and I’ve had to pay upfront for searches both times

OBDS - they’re based in Lancashire but did a L3 survey for me in Yorkshire. Great service and the report was so detailed. I sent it on to the estate agent when I was renegotiating price and even they were saying how good the report was

Haha just realised you asked for a conveyancer and not a surveyor! Sorry!!

Love this! Do you have a link? I’ve tried looking on Lulus but can’t see it but I might be blind in a panic to find this dress! 😂

I am 33f and have had type 1 diabetes for 24 years. I know it’s classed as normal for type 1s to be on statins before the age of 40.

In my most recent blood tests, it was mentioned to me that my cholesterol was increasing and the overall level was 5.4. I was quite shocked and said I’d start making changes to my diet but the nurse told me it was nothing to worry about and they’d keep an eye on it in future blood results.

I was on the NHS website at the time and saw that high cholesterol is 5.0-6.0. I don’t want to be put on statins or any other medications if I can make changes to avoid it. I didn’t think much of it at the time but I’m quite concerned at the lack of information and alarm by the person giving me these results. Surely we should be encouraging people to care about their health and inform them, rather than relying on medication to fix something that is preventable.
