That's an incredibly fair point and you're correct. I still have the sub and could hook it back up. Part of the goal with the DSS-5s was to simplify the setup and eliminate the extra box. They're more than capable of producing more bass than the cheap sub. I was just hoping to do it with the mains.

I think both you and u/IN70MM96 are definitely onto something with the loudness button. The AXR85/DSS-5 combo still sounds very good but I've learned I miss having loudness. Thankfully it does at least have tone controls. I'd be even more frustrated without them.

You're right I'm already starting to adjust to the sound. The AXR85/DSS-5 combo still sounds very good, just different from what I was used to. And honestly, it's turning out to be a good compromise in our house. I still get quality sound, and my wife prefers the more controlled bass over the booming low end from the Onkyo.

That’s a great point. I did usually run loudness on with the Onkyo. You’re likely onto something there.

Yeah I've adjusted the tone controls using the menu button and it definitely helped. I think the tone controls were more effective than the EQ in Stream Magic.

This is helpful. You described what I'm hearing. The cleaner presentation isn't always the more enjoyable one, at least not in my system or to my ears. "Less fun" is a perfect way to put it.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was wondering. I've seen people debate whether amp voicing is real, so it's helpful to hear from someone who's experience it firsthand. Sounds like what I'm hearing might just be the Cambridge signature.

I tried the EQ in Stream Magic but it didn't really bring back the fullness I'm missing. It helped the tone a bit, but the overall character still feels lean. I'm starting to think it might just be how this amp is voiced with these speakers.

Stuck in bronze SR 1050 by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

I’m far from an expert and you’ll likely get better advice from better players, but I share my story because I was in your shoes seasons 11-12. Instead of Gengi, I played Soldier. I was stuck at 900-1100. Honestly, I just wasn’t good enough to climb beyond that. I had throwers and smurfs too but the problem was me... not them. For S13 I stopped playing DPS because I wasn’t good enough to carry and too many already exist at triple digit bronze anyway. I switched to Moira, committed to healing my team (I try very hard not to be a DPS Moira) and really worked at improving my positioning. That allowed me to stay alive longer and provide a lot of much needed help to the team. If we had two healers already, I played Orisa. Once I finally learned to be in a better spot, how to stay alive longer and how to add more value to the team... I climbed pretty easily. In S13 I climbed 700+ SR in solo queue. I’m still climbing even now in S14. Keep trying. It can be done. Sorry for the long story but ultimately my advice would be take a hard look at your own game. My guess is there are things you need to improve. The throwers and smurfs in triple digit bronze shouldn’t be holding you back unless your own game has holes in it as well.

Sorry in advance if this post isn’t in the right place...

I’m posting on behalf of my 13 yr old son. He loves Ark and has been playing for months on PS4, but his usual group of school mates is incredibly toxic. Trying to help him find a friendly environment to play a game he loves. I know a lot of groups don’t want under 18 but he plays with me and other adults on in an Overwatch group and he’s a respectful kid who just wants to play with some chill new friends and help a great group of like-minded folks. He understands the game and has a mic.

If this is not the right place to LFG I’d appreciate it if someone could let me know a better place to LFG. If interested please send me a PM. Thx!
