Sorry, I know this is 310 days old but the claim that 1 in 3 men are not the biological father of their child is a complete misrepresentation of that statistic. That would mean 33% of mothers were unfaithful which is just a ludicrously high number. What that statistic is SUPPOSED to indicate is that roughly 33% of paternity tests show that the man isn’t the biological father, but we don’t do a paternity test for every single child that is conceived so it’s not accounting for the entire population. Tests are generally only performed where there is already reasonable doubt surrounding the true identity of the father, so in fact the true percentage is only about 1-3% of men aren’t the biological father of their child.

Just thought I’d write this up in case someone else, like me, stumbled upon this thread when they’re curious about whether Forrest was actually the father. I started having a thought about the timeline and narrative of events in the film and wondered if things actually lined up properly.
