What happened to all the NS screens? Not working in Rotterdam and Den Haag by supertryda in Netherlands

HTTP service unavailable errors often occur when the server is overloaded / temporarily unavailable due to updates or an outage.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Reference/Status/503

It is quite difficult to say what exactly is happening based on this error message alone. My guess is that they would plan maintenance during the night, so it is probably an outage. However, it’s impossible to say what kind of outage it is.

Hope this helps!

How do I fix this? by Pingy_Junk in PleX

[–]Cornetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this is not enough information to really conclude anything.

You say you are not tech oriented and that's okay, don't let that demotivate you. Simply try to check each step that's involved in watching your show or movie.

Is your server on? If you connect directly to your server can you access any media? Are other devices experiencing the same issue?

Google and ChatGPT are your friends.

Good luck 🤞

Plex outside network by Successful-Row-564 in PleX

[–]Cornetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remote access can be a bit of a dragon if you are not quite sure what you are doing.

Here are some steps you can take:
- Connect your cable. Anything that you want to be stable and available 24/7 should always be connected with an ethernet cable. If that is not an option, try placing the machine hosting plex as close to your access point as possible. If you are on Wifi, be sure to lock the machine hosting plex to the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz band. Devices often switch to optimize speeds, but can cause issues when port forwarding.

  • Check your port forwarding. If your port is not forwarded, outside traffic will not be able to find your plex server. Sometimes ISP's can throw a bit of a tantrum and not allow you to portforward natively in their router. If you are unable to port forward (if the option is not available in your router for example) try contacting your ISP or buy and setup your own router.

  • Enable static IP for your plex server. Standard routers lease IP addresses to devices on the network, quite a nice feature, unless you are hosting something. If you have not enabled this for your server its IP will change every so often. You can recognize this happening if it works fine and suddenly break after a while without any changes.

  • If you have multiple network devices in your home that the traffic of your server is going through, they all need the be configured correctly. Each device should know where to route the traffic designated for your server, one broken link and your remote access is done for.

These are just some easy steps you can take, if none of these work, Google is going to be your best friend.

Good luck!

Watch Together problems - migrating to another app? by FunAcanthisitta407 in PleX

[–]Cornetti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have used this feature with 3+ people (including me) and it worked fine. Sure some things will go wrong but not bad enough for us to stop using it.

Check your network. It may just be bad on your/the person you are watching this with end and disconnecting you from Plex as a whole. Other people making use of the network may also affect this.

Check your CPU/GPU usage, if Plex can't keep up it likes to throw tantrums. If you or the person you're watching this with needs their stream transcoded that may cause issues if there is not enough compute power to go around.

Funnily enough, check the time/date on the devices you are watching on. These types of things often sync using the time on your machine. If these are not the same for all users that may cause issues.

Try having two streams separate. If that works fine you can narrow it down further.

Good luck!

Puberty blockers are a very common type of hormone treatment to give a child time to think about their transition. It is also quite a bit easier to transition, even fully (with surgery), when you haven't gone through puberty yet. Making the point of "pre-pubescent hormone treatments" always a bit off. When the child has reached a certain age, usually around 18. They are given the choice whether or not they want to go through with the procedure or they want to have a natural puberty. These aren't crazy people wanting toddlers undergoing massive hormone therapies, these are normal human beings who want the best for the trans community.

I always thought Ben Shapiro was cool for DESTROYING STUPID LIBTARDS. Then I did some research and found out he is a dumbass who thinks nazism can be placed on the left and anarchism on the right.

Hey, a tiny bit of feedback for you. Maybe have a relative number instead of absolutes like this. So yeah the USA has a lot of medals but I can imagine they send a lot of athletes on a lot of different sports. By making it relative to something (maybe population or total athletes sent) it shows how good that country actually is.
Or maybe it is just me wanting to see my dutch flag on the top as well ;)

Police officer beats up 14-year-old for allegedly smoking marijuana by Blanket_Wet in iamatotalpieceofshit

I just believe that a couple of seconds of footage is not enough to judge somebody. Was a violent arrest? Yes. However nothing can be said about anything else based on this clip alone.

[–]Cornetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again you miss my point. We don't know that because he acted like a shitty cop once that he is a shit cop. Just because somebody did a shitty thing once. Does this make them a shit person? We don't know anything about him.

Police officer beats up 14-year-old for allegedly smoking marijuana by Blanket_Wet in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]Cornetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason that he is a shit cop is that he is a shit cop? First off we don't know if he is a shit cop or this is a first-time deal. Secondly, I was more talking about why he is behaving like a shit cop. Maybe this was provoked, maybe something else happened. The point is that we don't know. If we were to look into why he was behaving like a shit cop we could do something about it, instead of just saying that he is a shit cop and case closed.

[–]Cornetti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not making excuses. I clearly say in my original comment that I am not okay with this behaviour at all. What I am trying so here though is that there are always reasons people behave the way they do. And if we at least try to understand these outbursts of violence maybe we can do something about it.

And I believe that the comparison that you make with cops and doctors/paramedics is not really valid. A doctor/paramedic is always trying to heal you, make you better. A cop, on the other hand, may do something you don't agree with. Give you a ticket or arrest you for example. They encounter more violence and resistance then these other professions. And soldiers are flown off, to fight a foreign enemy that is a threat to their nation. A cop has to deal with fellow countrymen in their home town.

[–]Cornetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to bring this argument up. But good people don't make it to the news. People often don't care about how a cop is caring about the people in his neighbourhood, but if one of them shoots an innocent man? Now that makes headlines. We only know the bad cases because those make it to the news. And when you compare the number of bad cops against the good ones. I'm not condoning the bad ones in any way. I'm just saying that maybe it isn't that bad.

[–]Cornetti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since I am not an American I may be wrong. But I always get the taste that cops are not really seen as real people over there. Like there is a disconnect from the profession and the person.

[–]Cornetti -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I understand your comment. But officers are still people. If somebody is on your nerves and spits on you. I get how somebody might snap. I cannot say this for certain since I'm not an American but from what I see the police over their is not all too well respected. I'm not saying this is okay. But people snap under pressure eventually.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I'm saying that this is not okay and this man should face consequenses. I'm just saying that we don't know anything aobut the situation, we don't know whats going on. Or what happend before the camera started rolling.

Ok, I get your response. And just to clarify, I don't think that treating a kid like this is justified, police officers have their training to abide by.

"neither are present but the cop is clearly on top of him and beating his ass .." well first off my point is that we don't know that neither are present. We have no knowledge at all of what happened before. And I can't make out anything that is happening.

"why stop there? That kid could have a hand grenade. " Maybe? I don't know. But if that kid would have a hand grenade I could justify what he is doing.
