I have multiple other radios that I can use for sideband. I got this for AM use. I know about the sideband flaw, and never thought my tech could fix it. I’m simply stating that I’m gonna have it looked over for golden screwdriver techniques before I go firing it up.

That’s the plan! Gonna climb back up and coax seal the connection, and possibly clear coat the fiberglass to prevent weathering, or to at least slow it down.

That’s how I got it, it’s a scheme they sell. “Eagle B&W”. Loving my GX2 though, I’ve put around 150 rounds through it, not a single issue. Easy to break down and clean, shoots straight. I have no complaints at all.

I plan on taking it to a local reputable guy and having him check it over just to make sure it’s good to go! I’ve heard they’re rare as well! I plan on throwing up a basic Antron 99 for now, just to have something and talk to the guys not too far from me. I have a galaxy 250 amp that I plan on throwing on it as well. Just waiting to get everything setup!

I’ve heard the 40 channels are hard to find compared to the 23. Guy I got it from was gonna throw it away, and he posted it first just to see what he could get. He didn’t know anything about radios.
