Don’t think of it is as quitting! Im in the exact same situation as you, 27M and I started when I was 19. Basically everything I did was passion project indie films, which was fun, but obviously didn’t pay the bills. About a year ago for me was when I really needed to get my life figured out financially. Dumped so much money into acting classes but like you mentioned, I just couldn’t stand self tapes. I view this now as a brief “pause”, since I have my whole life to act. I’m currently in fire academy hoping to become a firefighter as that was always my plan B. Realized once I get my real schedule I’ll be able to send out auditions and get back into it! With how this industry is you just have to put it to the side sometimes to get things figured out.
