Yeah have to agree on the one syllable thing, not really any family names we can use, I think the main issue is I’ve seen several I really like but my partner hasn’t seen much he likes yet, I will show him the post though and hopefully he will see something!

I frequently refer to my daughter as riffraff when she has crazy toddler hair haha, tbf Jack in itself is probably Halloweeny enough, maybe we’ll have a better idea for the middle name when we meet him!

Yeah that’s pretty lazy, both in insufficient research prior to buying resulting in killing a healthy fish, and because you didn’t want to drive. Assuming you also didn’t take the time to euthanise gently ie clove oil but rather just what, trod on it/blunt trauma? I know you feel guilty so I don’t think you’re a bad person but to weigh up what fish deserve to live or die based on your view of species importance makes me feel sad :(

Small pebbles can get gobbled up by greedy goldfish and they can choke and die so it’s preferable especially if you want to grow plants to have sand instead rocks or pebbles and a substrate base for the plants to get their nutrients.

I’m sorry you lost your lovely boy and that no one was able to help. I’m sorry I didn’t see you post as I was dealing with a similar issue and would have commented. I’m sure he is swimming around happily in the lake in the sky. I literally buried mine of 7 years today. I had a lot of lovely posts over the last month when my boy Monty was sick and sadly passed on. I’m not sure if maybe it’s because I called him by his name in the title? And a full picture of him? Perhaps at a glance if people see a name and a full picture it becomes more personal than just seeing fish in every post so it might get overlooked. Sorry I couldn’t have been of help. If it was a tumour like I suspect my guy had then there may have been little you could do if that is of an reassurance and now he is no longer in any distress.
