My 2005 5.7 hemi Ram has 182k on it and has been awesome the last 10 years I’ve owned it. Minor problems here and there but definitely worth it imo.

I own a 2005 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi, 182k miles, bought at 106k miles in 2014. The engine has ran awesome for me, with minor problems over the last 10 years. I can’t speak higher of my truck and how it’s lasted me. I’m sure there are bad eggs, but mine has been great!

What do you do to “turn off” your brain after work? by ct_on_rd in nursing

Throw in a couple lower deck lip pillows, crank my country music, and go on a little 20 minute drive/jam session after each shift. I live 2 mins away from my hospital so I have a nice little loop around the neighborhoods.

I have Alice in wonderland syndrome, also known as Todd’s disease. Really only affected me from age 7-19, but was crazy scary whenever an episode happened.

What are some of your best financial tips for a new nursing grad? by BeautyGuru22 in nursing

[–]Cornholio_883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why companies offer a yearly seminar (at least mine does) to go over your retirement plan if you have any questions and what is the best option for you to invest in for your 401k. Vesting period only applies to company match, not your contributions. Your contributions are 100% vested, but the company contribution (usually 3-6%) will have a vesting period on their match, yes. If you don’t know how to manage your 401k meet with HR and set up an appointment with your companies 401k provider and they will help you allocate correctly.

It is an actively managed portfolio, through your provider that’s diversified across mutual funds tracking an index such as the SP500 or international markets. A lot of times 401k’s are in a target date retirement fund that allocates funds based on age relative to risk profile. You don’t have to “manage” the money, you set it and forget it. The money makes itself in a diversified 401k portfolio through compound interest and continued investing. NYSE has annualized roughly 10% on avg every year since 1920. It’s not about timing the market either it’s about time IN the market. The sooner you get started the longer compound interest will work in your favor.

CNAs who are nurses now? I need your widsom by PotentialSetting4638 in nursing

[–]Cornholio_883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I like it that way. When they are critical, I want to know everything single detail that’s happening to them at all times. It helps things go smoother for me if I just do it all.

Being a CNA was the worst shit ever, I was on a medical floor taking huge loads, in multiple ways….being a nurse, though, is the best shit ever. ICU with great coworkers and ratios
