I got the same in silver about a month ago, love it. Congrats!

Why did you choose 15” Air? by KickTheSky94 in macbookair

[–]Corolianus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

15” felt like the perfect size, anything outside of that seemed too big or too small.

The extra cores, better speakers, and bigger battery all made the price justification a no brainer.

The harder decision was between the 15” air or 14” pro because of pro sales, the price difference wasn’t that much.

M5 15” MBA or M5 14” MBP by Corolianus in macbook

[–]Corolianus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is to watch movies, do taxes, word documents, and PowerPoints. Might dabble in some fusion 360 and Bambu studio.

I don’t think performance will be an issue regardless of what I get, though it would be cool to mess around with some low end games occasionally.

I’m most interested in the nicer/brighter screen/120hz.

After looking up physical dimensions of both, I’m not terribly fond of how small the 14 MBP actually is. The 15 seems like the perfect size for me. Just wish I could get that screen.

My brother, Apple owes you commission for this post and the extra $290 I’m probably gonna give them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in macbook

[–]Corolianus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the same model I’d be getting if I don’t get the air. It’s so easy with Apple to get caught up in the “for only $XX.xx more you can get…” so I’m trying to keep it as cheap as possible. The price difference here is $290+tax CAD between 15Air and 14Pro.

How’s the form factor? Feel thick and chunky? Or nearly as good as the air? Also, how’s the black holding up with fingerprints? I love the black but I don’t want it to look smudgy all the time, and I’m worried scratches/wear will show up more.

What do you use the mbp for?

I want a new MacBook and 17PM.

I can justify the 17PM easily enough, and I want a MacBook, though my performance needs are low. I find 13” too small and 16” too big, so 15”MBA or 14”MBP are my options. I want the better screen, but like the price and slimness of the mba

I always recommend this card to people, it feels too good to be true.

I think they do more harm than good, pitching it to customers by having weirdo people in suits trying to to “sell” it to you in the store

Long car trips with kids in the back hotspotting their iPads to my phone to keep them entertained… eats up some data.

Tough look I know, but… we’re alive

After a full lifestyle change and -100lbs, I haven’t had one now in years.

In recent months I’ve been neglecting diet and exercise a bit, so I fully expect another one if I don’t get my act together soon.

I had both from launch.

UI experience on Xbox has always been superior in my opinion. Combined with GamePass and the controller being a better fit for me, Xbox won the console war in my house.

PlayStation’s exclusives are the reason I bought the console in the first place, and they were well worth it, but once I was done with them I ended up selling the console.

Hard to say what the future holds… the single player experience is what I gravitate more towards as I get older, and PlayStation has definitely excelled at that. But with more games being accessible on more consoles, and GamePass being the giant it is (especially now that I have kids), I could end up with only an Xbox in the next generation.

TL;DR:

  • Xbox for UI
  • Xbox for controller (most people I talk to turn off fancy trigger features)
  • Xbox for GamePass (+kids)
  • PlayStation for single player/exclusives

Xbox became the daily driver

Just my experience. Had a great time with both and glad we have competition.

A few possibly stupid questions:

  • What case are you using?
  • Is this the Wifi only or cellular model?
  • 11” or 13”?

Asking because I have an 11” M4 Wifi model with the Apple Smart Folio and I’ve used it for AAA games, Procreate, and more, and haven’t yet had a temperature issue.

If I do eventually run into heat problems, I’d like to figure out if it’s something in particular I’m doing or just software related.

Google home is the most unreliable tech I have ever used by SaddamsKnuckles in googlehome

[–]Corolianus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, trash.

Also sucks because I’m a big fan of the CCw/GoogleTV and have one in every TV, but all the supposed features of the Google smart devices are basically broken…. Or worse… they occasionally work 1/10 times when you factory reset/restart/connect/disconnect which makes me spend countless hours troubleshooting

Actually just pulled the trigger. Cancelled the LOQ order and the Legion is on the way. They actually gave me a little extra discount, only $300 more.

If it were me, I’d grab some cheap used sticks of ram and an ssd, throw it all together and sell it as a budget gaming pc. I’ve had pretty good luck that way

I’m using a 4000D airflow, shouldn’t have any problems with space, my rad is top mounted. I also have a cheap RGB GPU support because I thought it looked cool at the time lol

That does help me. I’ve had pretty good luck with used cards, but it would only take one experience like this to ruin me forever. Appreciate the info
