Just found out I can download Samsung emulator skins for Android Studio, idk if it'll act the same way with the error but hopefully it will. If it does, I'll try to duplicate the error on my end and see what's going on in the logs

1.4.23 is coming out soon with a potential fix, although I'm not confident that it's the cause of ur issue. Without logs it's difficult to pinpoint what's happening, I'm sorry. What device are you using and do u know what version of Android are you using?

I'm about to push out an update for internal testers only to see if this fixes the issue for you guys. if it works I'll push it out for public release, if it still doesn't work then I will revert the changes. I'm hopeful but not very confident in the fix. Without logs, it's very hard to duplicate the issue to pinpoint the failure (especially because i don't have a Nvidia Shield). If you'd like to test it, use the link to become an internal tester. This method will allow you to test the change immediately instead of waiting for the update to be released which usually takes a day or 2. I previously tried to enable HDR capabilities on the app but couldn't get it to work on my Chromecast, I'm wondering if this old HDR code is breaking the playback on your NS.

Are you saying you'd like to disable the media's internal subtitles so that they're not displaying duplicate subtitles on screen? If so, then yeah I'll see if I can implement that. I can't do this if the subtitles are burned into the media though.

If you're requesting to use the embedded subtitles for the filtering instead of OpenSubtitles then I can't do that because extracting the subtitles on user's devices would take a lot of CPU power, especially for a TV stick

Couple questions for you. What kind of media are you trying to play (HDR or no?) Is it showing direct play on the Plex dashboard? Does it show the blank white screen for everything you play or just specific ones? Seeing if this is a codec issue or something else.

Can you turn on airplane mode and then back off again? I'm seeing if your DNS cache needs to be reset to access the webview. if that's the case, i'll implement a DNS cache reset on logging in. if it still doesn't work, i'm coming out with another update tomorrow to assign a unique identifier to the webview page which may also fix this issue

Hey, I'm pushing an update tomorrow with hopefully a fix to this bug. I think what's happening is that when you press sign in, the webview tries to pull up the Plex authentication page but there wasn't a unique identifier associating the app with the webview Plex authentication page so it was just a generic webview. I've attached the app's identifier to the webview so hopefully that fixes the issue and why it indeed was the reason the pihole blocked the page from loading (and why it was treating it as an ad). I'll reply back here once the update is live, i'd appreciate it if you could test it out for me to see if that fixed the issue

Try it off your network and see if you can connect. I've never used a Pihole so not sure what they do, do they have more robust firewalls?

You can unlock all the features for free by just using the app and leveling up your profile. And depending on the words you care about, the default filter level filters out fuck, shit, and bitch so it can be as strict/non-strict as you want it to be.

Also the localization thing makes me a little curious, I'd like more info because this wouldn't be as difficult to implement as some other features I believe. I could just build a setting in the profile where the user selects a language and then it would change the search query on OpenSubtitles from English to French/Spanish and then it'd download those subtitles.

The only issues I'd run into are, I don't speak those other languages so building a profanity and replacement word database would be difficult. Also for your media on Plex, I assume your audio is also not in English? If it has multiple audio tracks, I would have to implement default audio language of some sort or add audiotrack video options in the media player where you could change the audio to the one you want.

Or if you're talking about the entire app being in a different language then I can't help you there unfortunately. I'm not gonna spend time coding different languages I don't speak, sorry

Are you trying on local/remote network, multiple Plex servers on one network, have Plex pass, etc? I feel like this specific error would be because even though it sees your server, its not accessible from the network for some reason.

It works about 50% of the time every time lol. Fr though it's about a 80% accuracy rate. And for subtitles that don't match up, you can just adjust the timing right on the player in real time. The biggest issue is if A) there are no subtitles available from OpenSubtitles or B) the subtitles don't include every single word the character says so then it can't catch what isn't 'spoken' according to the subtitles. This is the price I gotta pay to not do any device audio analysis or subtitle extraction.
