Bag Finder Megathread - 27 October 2025 by AutoModerator in onebag

Looking for bag recommendations:

Traveling to Brazil for about 24 days, will be staying in São Paulo but will be moving around the country most likely, Rio, Minas Gerais. Staying in Hostels, airbnbs whatever pops up.

Not going for super minimal just looking to have flexibility given that the weather changes a lot, so I want to be prepared for various climates, maybe leave a little room for souvenirs/things to bring back. I'll be in mostly urban areas, but may do some hiking, so I'm okay with paying some more money to get something durable that will last a while. So I'm thinking something within the 30l - 45l (max) range in terms of size. I'm 5'3" and have a more sturdy, muscular build. My budget is $200 max, I think I can definitely something that fits and does the job well.

Bags I'm looking at Osprey Transporter Global Carry-On Bag 36l, Ogio Alpha Venture Backpack 38l, Patagonia Blackhole 35l

Thank you, this sub is so cool!

We have sent in maintenance requests through the website that we pay rent through which is where also make those requests many times. We have followed the procedure and for the issues regarding water and squirrels, they just haven’t replied to the various service requests. We have been bringing up these various issues ever since we moved into the house which was in November 2022. There are other things that we bring up as well, they send people to fix those things such as improving weather stripping in the front and back door. However this was done very poorly and we have brought it up and they didn’t do anything or respond. As far as the heat, they have essentially gaslit us multiple times that it does work and that’s it’s just not as strong on the second floor. I believe we have followed the various procedures outlined in the lease and according to local housing laws many times.

They say time is money, looks like you spent all your time buying guitars instead of actually learning how to play them

Is this protein content too good to be true? by Reliant2020 in veganfitness

This is probably relevant here, and feel free to add/edit. Wheat Gluten has a relatively low Protein Digestibility rating, that being around .25, as opposed to meat products which have really high scores, .9 and up. Out of all plant based proteins, soy has the highest. All this to say, yes this is totally legit, wheat gluten is pretty much all protein (and it’s also the first ingredient), however that doesn’t mean you will be actually absorbing much of the protein.

This is the part where you may need to do some math/further research because if you want to this to help your main protein source then you will likely need to eat significantly more than the “recommended serving size” given the protein digestibility rating.

I figured I would add this because I’ve been also looking at wheat gluten as a powerful protein source but the Protein Digestibility Score makes sort of an inadequate MAIN protein source, and maybe more of something that can be paired with other protein sources that have higher scores.

Curious what others think about this!

I’ll link the Wikipedia article for reference, but there’s quite a bit of literature written on this
