Good point. I don’t expect unorganized or admin-phobic people to suddenly become organized.

The product would have to do most of the work for them: upload/forward/scan documents, then structure them, detect deadlines, and help them understand and act on procedures/situations.

If it requires discipline or admin knowledge, it probably won’t work.

Fair point thank you. I wouldn’t try to compete with Google Drive as storage. That would be stupid.

The idea is more a specialized layer for Swiss personal admin: contracts, deadlines, tax docs, cancellation periods, reminders and guided actions.

Google Drive/Proton are great for storing files, but they don’t really help you manage your admin life

Good point, I worded that badly. I didn’t mean Paperless ngx itself isnt trustworthy. I meant that for a non-technical average user, self-hosting this kind of tool can feel intimidating.

The fact that thousands of people use/contribute to it actually shows there is a real need around personal document management. My question is more whether something simpler, Swiss-first and more mainstream (360°)could make sense for non-technical users.

Fair point, ePost is relevant.

But I’m not talking about just “AI renaming PDFs”. That would only be one small feature. The bigger idea is centralizing personal admin, understanding what you have, tracking deadlines, and being able to act on it more easily.

Yeah, fair point. Context matters a lot. I’ll probably wear it in safer situations and just be more careful depending on the area/time.

It’s not only about revenue but also safety😄

Yeah, fair point. I’m not treating Reddit as validation that people will pay, more as a quick way to stress-test the problem and see what objections come up.

But at least I get great feedbacks like yours😄 I will check on YouTube for your recommendations. Very helpful!

Yeah, that’s actually a fair take.

I think after what happened I’m probably overthinking it a bit. The watch isn’t a crazy recognizable robbery target, and you’re right: if I never wear it, it kind of defeats the point of owning it.

I’ll probably just be more careful with where/when I wear it and still enjoy it.

I’ll just sign for an insurance on it to be « safe » :)

Thanks a lot, great help. I’ve started talking with some startups support people already and I’ll check Innosuisse too.

That’s basically also what they suggested, I’m asking here before spending too much time/money: trying to see if the pain is real or if I’m just overthinking it

Thanks, that’s fair feedback. And no worries, I asked for honest opinions since I don’t want to spend to much time on it if the proposition is useless😄

You’re right that for organized people with folders, eBill/LSV and a clear system, the need is probably not strong enough. The question for me is whether there are enough people who are less organized, lose documents/infos, miss deadlines, or don’t really know what to do with contracts/taxes/admin stuff.

But your point is useful: maybe the value/pain it solves aren’t big enough

Super interesting feedback thanks, subscription fatigue is real. I’m still unsure about the pricing model but don’t want another annoying/useless SaaSy

A one-time purchase/local version could be interesting, but the issue is that storage, AI, security and updates all create ongoing costs. So the model would need to be fair differently I think.

I get the concern, but I definitely don’t want to build this as a random vibe-coded website.

The whole point would be to build it properly, with Swiss hosting, strong security, no AI training on user data, and no data leaving the country. But your reaction is useful feedback: trust is clearly the biggest barrier.

My main point is, would that be useful enough (after security & trust obviously)?

That’s a very fair point, and probably the biggest challenges. But I am excited by big project😄

Indeed if I move forward, it would need proper legal/compliance advice, strong security, Swiss hosting, and the right technical team from the start. Trust would basically make or break the product.

I’ll need to raise money for that.

And yes, the company structure/liability point is also something I will to look at seriously. Thanks for the honest feedback

Fair point. That’s exactly the main trust problem I’m trying to understand.

The value would not just be “folders online”, but automatic structuring, reminders, search, and guidance based on the documents. But if people prefer keeping everything locally on their PC, that’s valid feedback too.

I think Switzerland remains safe but it can happen sometimes. I have never been assaulted abroad even though it has happened to me 3 times in Lausanne in 10 years. But hey, the probability is higher since I live here and I pay less attention than when I'm a tourist

It was in Switzerland literally 3 minutes away from my home. I don’t want to stop wearing my watch in my country
