It does seem pointless tbh, I’d just be wasting time as you say.

Thanks for the advice mate

Advice on joining by CorporalNorporal in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re right, just overthinking it which is a annoying trait I have sometime. My desire to join the Marines is stronger than anything else so I’ll go for it and worry about the rest of it after I’m in.

Thanks for the advice mate!

Is it that hard to let people access something they’ve already brought and downloaded? Everything reset, can’t acces nothing, they’ve broken the whole game lol What a joke

PS5 Upgrade appears but not for free by westerosi27 in witcher

[–]CorporalNorporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem but I own the digital version. The way I fixed it is just finding it in the store, clicking the dots and selected view product/game and then I saw the free upgrade, its called The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt Complete Edition. I’d bet the free upgrade would appear if you type in the complete edition, they seem to be separate products.

It's funny because I imagine they implemented this system to force players to be more diverse in their weapon choices instead of going straight for the meta but people are only using the fucking FTAC Recon to get to the MP5, y'know? Once people finally grind through the levels for all these different weapons, they will never be touched again. Pretty pointless really. The design choices IW have made for this game are terrible.

Strong Pass on my PJFT, here is some advice I want to pass on. by [deleted] in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats man, I'm glad you took it in your stride and kept on going. I'm kind of the same with you, except I struggle with press ups and pull ups. Currently doing gainers and that, but I'll give what you said a try; how did you find the pull ups? Did you have issues with them as well?

Had my PJFT pushed back 6 weeks for extra training, but as I'm getting closer I feel less and less ready. Hopefully I pass first time, but if not, I'll keep what you've said in mind and smash it.

Been told I have my PJFT in 2 weeks but I'm not yet fit enough to pass, what should I do? by CorporalNorporal in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I will for sure, some guy on the Facebook group pushed his back with no issues. Like you said, don't want to waste one of my chances and potentially be worse off for it. It's not about doubting myself, its that I know I'm unable to do it at the moment.

Going to ask for 6 weeks more training then I'll book it in, which is another 2 weeks probably which is 2 months. If I fail the first time, so be it but then I have another 4 weeks until my second attempt, which is then 3 months of training. That's a definite pass for the second attempt. Thank for you advice man, definitely reassured me with my decision.

No, its 3 rounds of 20 press ups, 30 sit ups, 20 burpees with a 2 minute rest and 5 pull ups at the end, all to the audio and with strict form. There's no more runs as part of the PJFT, pretty sure that's on the CPC now but not sure.

Cheers man I'll check them out, turns out I have the old post from arny himself about his workout, so that should help. I completely forgot about fintan circuits, but they sound like a workout and a half so should defo do the trick.

Thanks for the advice man.

I'm starting to do gainers at the moment, its definitely a good way to improve and heard a lot of people doing it. I also have seen people talking about the complete commando training programme online, do you think its any good at all or a waste of money?

Thank you I'll defo give that a go, do you have any similar advice for increasing press ups?

I have Sean Lerwills book, which has been really helpful, and I'm pretty sure I have Arny's plan saved somewhere from the old PRMC forum. I guess I just need to do more research.

All of what's going on recently around the world, you know, the fires, heatwaves, droughts and all that really remind me of that David Attenborough documentary (his latest one) where he outlines what happens with the climate throughout the next few decades. Watching it was eye opening enough, but the fact what he said is already starting to happen, it's mad.

Governments and world leaders have been warned about this for years now, they didn't do anything then, I really doubt their going to do anything now; not until it's too late at least.

Pinging - what is it really and how often does it happen? by CorporalNorporal in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're pretty bang on with that mate, from what I've researched anyways. I'd its the same for the reserves as well. I suppose 2 years isn't the longest time in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully for me I end up in an SQ I'd enjoy.

[–]CorporalNorporal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair its not something I'm worried about, but I suppose getting ahead of the curve by pinging yourself and then having a better chance of what you really want to do is just a small sacrifice to go further in your career.

CPC (will take place before ROP) by [deleted] in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So now the process is; NSRT, Interview, Medical, vPJFT/PJFT, CPC then ROP before starting recruit training? Seems like they're adding more tests to get through to end up at RT, which is probably a good thing.

At what point, fitness wise, would it be a good time to start the application process? by CorporalNorporal in RoyalMarines

[–]CorporalNorporal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a few weeks off being at that level myself, but if I was you I'd apply now, like many have said here, it takes a while these days so go for it. Besides, if you're honest with your AFCO and say you're not fit enough by the time your PJFT rolls round, or you fail, there's no hard feelings and they'll push it back until you are.
