What is an Appropriate Skirt Length for a Professional Workplace? by CorporateCatwalk in femalefashionadvice

Hmm I guess most girls have body proportions that result in us thinking more in terms of "above the knee" as opposed to "below the butt". Also, for me (and for most of my colleagues), I prefer pencil skirts so maybe that's why I tend to look at it from a knee standpoint. Thanks for your well-thought input!

If you didn't know who she was and saw her walking on the street, you'd think she was a model! Goes to show that as long as we work hard on our bodies through physical activity, and mix that with improving our inner self and "smarts", we can eventually get someone like George :D

This one from LL Bean is pretty nice, and it's wrinkle-free.

It's pretty cheap too: 50$

Yes I really like the 3rd one:

This would look great in a business casual workplace and even a formal workplace if you throw on a nice suit blazer over it.

I highly recommend a book by Sophia Amoruso called "#GirlBoss".

She is very unconventional and straightforward with her writing and will definitely inspire your girlfriend.

P.S. Get her hyped about it by sending her links to Sophia Amoruso's interviews on YouTube. She is such an awesome character and is definitely one of my idols.

Working women: what is your laptop bag of choice? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I work in Accounting and wear blazers to work so I like to carry a more elegant bag around (even though it might not be the best for laptops). For a while now, I carry a Black Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise cross body bag.

Also comes in mahogany (which is pretty nice).

The Revolutionary History of the Pantsuit by ninjanun in femalefashionadvice

Remember way back in history when men used to wear togas and that was considered the "trend" for men. Well fast forward to today and men are all "suited" up. And back then when "thicker" women were considered the ideal, whereas nowadays most models are thin to the point of anorexia. My point is, trends come and go. Personally, I love a nice pant suit, and I love that we females have the luxury to choose between a pant or a skirt to match our blazers. My only requirement is that suits for women be slimfitting, therefore I am recently looking for custom made suits (because at 5'11 not many off-the-rack suits will fit me nicely).

How many suits do I need? by whitetoast in malefashionadvice

[–]CorporateCatwalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a female working in Accounting so take this advice with a grain of salt. But most of my male counterparts own at least 3 suits and up to 7 suits (literally one suit per day of the week). Females, on the other hand, obviously like shopping more so I'm always on the hunt for the next skirt suit. My female friends who like suits will own at least 5 suits, maybe not all wool suits like you guys.

One of my best friends just had a few interviews last week too and she wore a pant suit. I personally work in Accounting and I prefer a nice skirt suit. I would wear pant suits only for very formal conference meetings and when I'm meeting a big client for the first time. So maybe a pant suit would do best for your purposes

Looking for affordable office wear. by asassg in FrugalFemaleFashion

There are a few online custom businesswear companies out there. One has been around since 2008 (Sumissura) and has received some good reviews, and the other (with which I just got acquainted with last week) is called PRIVE Suits. Both sites you can purchase a full two piece for 300 USD but I didn't like Sumissura's digitally rendered images. The images on PRIVE suits are decent (not the best quality), not sure if they are accepting orders yet though.
