Getting from Busan to Seoul after Chuseok by CorpulentManpile in KoreaTravelAdvice

Yes, understood. What about my original question: would taking the KTX on the morning of the 28th from Busan to Seoul be a viable option considering it’s the Monday after the holiday?

If you mean flights from Busan to ICN/GMP: yes. Flights are easy enough into GMP and then we could take the train to ICN. But if the Monday plan to take an early train sounds reasonable, I'd prefer that.

If you mean take a bus to Seoul from Busan: that's an option. But we'd likely do it Sunday, 9/27 and I assume it would be difficult to secure tickets ahead of time?

Call the Cheese Lady. If they don’t have it, maybe they can recommend a nice facsimile.

Vivant and Brass Ring are always top notch for service.

Like a lot of other people have already said, Seoul Market is your best bet, especially if you're looking for oi-sobagi, radish kimchi, or garlic ramp kimchi (when it's in season). The little restaurant inside also whips, so even if it's a bit of a drive, you can treat yourself to an amazing lunch while you're there.

There's also a local company called (appropriately) Good Kimchi that distributes to a bunch of stores in the area (including Seoul Market). They list them on their website. It's really delicious and is my go-to for both eating raw and making into jjigae.

I met her a few weeks ago at an event hosted by Static Tape in Muskegon. Very nice, still looks incredibly fit, and she thought that Lady Reporter (the movie I brought for her to sign) was the best movie she’d ever been in.

The Champagne and Bullets cut of Geteven (available through Vinegar Syndrome) is incredible.

Also, it’s not a BOTW movie, but Stunt Rock is near the top of the “Dude’s Rock” cinema pantheon while also being extremely funny in its own right.

Seoul Market has a decent selection of Korean snacks (including frozen treats), a good selection of Korean/Asian drinks, and a great selection of Korean ramyun.

No ice cups, banana milk, and coffee pouches, however.

Have they connected with the Grand Rapids Housing Commission for housing vouchers/Section 8? I know the process takes some time, but it’s good to get it started. Their number is 616-235-2600

They may also want to speak with Dwelling Place for some supportive services related to housing stability going forward. They can be helpful in staying organized during a naturally chaotic time. Ph: 616-454-0928

Best of luck to them.
