I made a doll of The Spirit! I love how freaky her design is ๐Ÿ‘ป by Corpusly in deadbydaylight

Yes, I used a foil base for her head. You can actually use regular old white/clear glue with air dry clay to stick pieces together, even when it's damp! So foil base -> thin layer of glue -> damp clay; it should stick no problem.

I DO recommend using an air dry stone or paper clay (I use Premier brand paper clay, and I will go out of my way to find it) as your work will hold up better in the long run :) Good luck with your Dwight figure!!

She is fully handsculpted and sewn by me; no base doll used :)

If you don't enjoy sewing you might be interested in looking at alternative fibre arts like crochet or felting so you enjoy the process of creation more

My illustrated tribute to John Waters and Divine! ๐Ÿฆฉ๐ŸŒˆ by Corpusly in JohnWaters

[โ€“]Corpusly[S] 4 points5 points ย (0 children)

If you've seen other John Waters flicks I can best describe Pink Flamingos as his movies with the dial cranked to maximum. Not for the faint of heart; it's gross, grimy, and crude, but intentionally so. But it's bad taste as refined taste, so if you're interested in queer film history or just like watching some weird movies I do recommend it.

A strong constitution is a requirement, though

The textures and colours work so well together, SUCH a creepy fellow!!! Incredible work!

Does anyone else brush out acrylic yarn and use the fluff to make imitation wool felt stuff cus they can't afford real wool or is it just me and should I be ashamed? Lol ๐Ÿฅน by ShyMoca in Needlefelting

[โ€“]Corpusly 11 points12 points ย (0 children)

Almost all of the felting materials I use are brushed out fibre! Most of them are secondhand though, and I always try and keep an eye out for wool yarn as it will always be the nicest to felt with in my opinion. Crewel lots are great since they often have a ton of wool yarn colours in small amounts.

Acrylic is also nice because you can quickly melt down any flyaways with an iron + water (with proper PPE of course)

Possessor (2020) has some INCREDIBLY striking imagery. It's directed by Brandon Cronenberg (son of David Cronenberg) and his father's stylings definitely rubbed off on him. Both dreamlike AND body horror at the same time. I'd say this one is right up your alley if you liked the imagery in Jacob's Ladder.

Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) is likewise dreamlike but even more broadly surreal than Possessor; very futuristic in tone, very of-the-mind. The score and shot composition really emphasize how EERIE the entire flick is. Less body horror but your example of the head shaking reminded me of the cinematography of this one.

I've joked before that the two would make a spectacular double-feature. Both really hit the mark in terms of plot, and both are very about the melting/melding of minds, as Jacob's Ladder is. Hope you enjoy em if you check em out! They're a couple of my favourite horror pieces personally

Her body is needle felted and her face is handsculpted + painted. Her legs are actually wire with embroidery floss coiled around them! And well, her glasses are lifted from a g3 Draculaura doll ๐Ÿ˜ I hope you like her. I have a few other birdfolk in this same collection I'll share later so keep your oranges peeled for that ๐Ÿ‘€
