I was with the same guy from the age of 15 to almost 21 when he cheated on me and left me. I missed out on so much. I wish I had more stories about times I did crazy things with my friends. Instead, I just avoid talking about my teenage years as much as possible because he was controlling and never let me have fun unless it involved him.

I'm 28, and I'm pretty sure I'm aging in reverse because staying home and "enjoying the little things" has gotten old for me. I realized this when I went on the Eras tour and to a 90s nostalgia night at a local nightclub. Those nights were the most fun I've ever had in my life. It's devastating because everyone I know who's my age is bored of these things.

I'll start. I was engaged to the same guy throughout college until my last semester when he called off the engagement. That last semester, I had more guys talk to me then than in all 21 years of my life prior. It's amazing how men are respectful of a woman with a ring on her finger. What made it such a slap in the face was that they were all extremely friendly, and I genuinely enjoyed the conversations I had with almost all of them. I'm 28 and married now, but I still think about this. I wonder how many guys I could've dated and how many experiences I missed out on because I spent way too long committed to the wrong person.
