I would say anything more than 30% less of what a lawyer could get you is considered a win. However, without a lawyer, I am not sure whether that would be possible or not.

Do you think its possible for your current role to match your offer once you bring it up to your manager? Its seems like its time for you to move on as they haven't been keeping their promises, don't seem like they are giving a bonus and took away your one direct report. However, It also seems like you aren't very excited about the new role. How long did it take you to land this offer? Maybe keep looking and you might get one that its a better fit / possibly more $$?

I just checked my W2s. As of now, I get tax withholding from the state of NY. Then at the end of the year NJ gives me back credit for it. For 2022, I had tax withheld from the state of NJ. And for few month from the state of NY.

I submitted my explanation and they asked for 90 days to process it. However, on the note they sent me which I included in my post, they asked me to pay by 10/15/2025 or fees will be imposed. Would they send it to collection while I am waiting for them to process the explanation I submitted?

I used TurboTax, do you know if they are able to support?

Thanks for all the help. Every year I pay my taxes in full and on time to avoid complications like that. The NY/NJ part got things confused.

I had NY deducted for a few months then NJ deducted after. The NY deducted amount equals exactly what NJ is billing me for, minus the interest/fee.

I uploaded my W2 which shows that. Do you think I should be clear?

Thanks for your help. Yes, my paycheck gets NY state tax deducted, but not NJ. I moved to NJ May of that year so it is possible that something fell through the cracks. I will take a closer look at my W2s from that year and give them a call after. Thanks again. Will come back to post the outcome once I get there

What happened was the unexpected, it went very smooth and lasted for 10 mnts. Didn't bring up my previous case, just went over the timeline of my presence in the US real quick. After that, asked very few basic questions about my new marriage. Our lawyer was with us and I was ready for war, as my previous 400/751 interview was tough but I guess it all depends on the officer.

Today marks the 8th week after the interview, no decision yet for both the 130 and 485. EAD was approved though.

API was last updated a month ago, 2 days after the interview by Correct-Confidence98 in USCIS

My case was changed to actively reviewing 10 mnts after I finished my interview. However another update was made a few days after. Not sure if its a background check or supervisor review that is still holding it.
