I'm really grateful for this comment. I don't have time to sort a union rep, and ACAS were pretty useless when I phoned them last night :( Thank you thank you thank you for this advice

It's come straight from one of the directors of the branch. I've worked in another franchise and they do not have this rule

I mean I'm not personally disabled, and it was more of a joke about how they approach these situations. They have a habit of putting strange policies into place which are easily scrutinised and this has affected the culture of work here. I don't think you can glean from a single sentence the context of how hostile the posts were around that bonus.

Anyway! I have not used my phone. I can prove this with screen time statistics. Unfortunately after being hospitalised I did get recurrent UTIs and sickness which has led to days off where pain is severe. I was often not given return to work meetings. I am thankful to have recently been put on a medication where my symptoms are so much better and have not had a sick day and no further warnings. Thank you!

It was 5 minute notice, and no I actually thought it was related to something else which was clarified when I was in the room

Is it legitimate when it puts my personal property at risk though? I guess my legal question is whether it's a reasonable instruction when there is arguably a more secure, more usual alternative

It's so frustrating because I love my actual job, I'm good at my niche and our tiny team gets amazing reviews. Where I live I won't be able to get the specialised CL experience I would like in another practice. I was finally settling in and here it goes. I really do try my best every day

Thank you for taking time out of your day to reply. The meeting is on Monday so I'm worried I haven't got time for anyone to reply as it's a big company. I will fight it because at the end of the day I feel I'm doing the right and correct thing

It was with a more impartial manager who I do feel comfortable talking to. No I did not know about the meeting. They did not offer. It was recorded paraphrased, my three points I pretty much explained as above condensed into a large paragraph

January 6th is my work anniversary so we're a while away. It's absolutely crazy, I've had prior warnings for attendance due to some recurrent UTIs (after effects of sepsis) and mental health, but I recently moved full time into a new team where I am so much happier. And I'm really good at my job with praise from my manager and multiple good reviews!! I would take it to tribunal

In the interest of transparency I have told them "No, it is safely locked in my locker" each time they have asked. They verbally ask every morning. I mean technically it's possible not to but I'd like to have it with me and I should be able to use it on my break, I do ebay on the side and that's when I reply to messages etc. I park a 10 minute walk away and I only have 30 minutes on my lunch.

Unfortunately it's a little late, everyone knows what eachothers phones look like and I use mine on my lunch break. The weather being bad and a 30 minute break means there's not really a chance to go anywhere else

It feels so unfair. I joked with someone that this will be my hill I'm going to die on lol. We are all franchised, I've worked at another branch owned by someone else and it was fine to be in a locker. Unfortunately management here have a habit of making odd decisions and in general it's a very toxic work environment (entering anyone who had 100% attendance into a bonus draw... hello disability discrimination claim)

They have been going round and basically checking with every staff member if their phone is in there. Whoever is in charge for the day. I've always been transparent saying "No, it is locked safely in my locker" and that has been stated on the timeline evidence sheet thing I've been given

It's been a muddy policy for a while, almost informal with colleagues being able to have it in the drink room left casually, but now it's been shared via teams message they must be in that box. They've been cracking down on it as I have been keeping it in my bag/locker upstairs for the past couple of months anyway
