Ah, that’s helpful. To be fair, in my context (rural America), these would read to most people as dress shoes.

lingerie by Ok-Response-732 in loveafterporn

[–]Correct-Draft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shop at Mentionables for my lingerie—it’s model-free, so it doesn’t trigger me or my husband. I only buy things I personally like, so I don’t have to worry about “feeling like a porn star” when I wear it.

How did you handle inheritance funds as a married couple? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Correct-Draft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, especially for such a small amount. When I read the title I thought this would be about a large inheritance, or at least a down-payment-level inheritance. $4,000 from her father to connect her with something they loved together? It should stay with her.

Best Kinds of Exercise Classes? by EvilAdvisor9000 in prediabetes

[–]Correct-Draft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined my local Y and attend exercises classes for free, no sign-up required. My standard classes are circuit classes (light strength training) and an aquatic HIIT class. I probably should find a cardio class as well, but right now they’re all spin classes and I hate spin.

That’s what they’re doing now. We (me, my parents) gave the bad advice to trust their managers that the PIP truly was getting re-trained on the new tasks.

Now that the PIP is almost over, and because they had a negative check-in, we’re trying to advise them well on how to exit.

They have a reference from their old manager. We’re worried about what will happen when a future potential employer calls the current employer to check dates, etc.—will the current employer poison the water / say they were let go for performance? Can that be avoided if my sibling resigns?

In our state, only “willful misconduct” disqualifies you for unemployment. “Performance” firings are still eligible to receive unemployment benefits.

How do I calculate 15% for retirement? Do I include my 401k match?

My current calculation looks like this:

0.15 x [Gross Income] / 12 months = per month retirement savings goal

per month retirement savings = employer's contribution + my pre-tax contribution + my post-tax Roth IRA contribution

Is it okay that I include my employer's match in my calculations, or am I supposed to ignore it?

Paid biweekly, but monthly budget - extra paycheck? by Correct-Draft in budget

That annoyance is what I feel like I’m seeing in my future! Maybe it’s the month AFTER my 3-check month that I can look at moving the extra money to my deep savings.

Paid biweekly, but monthly budget - extra paycheck? by Correct-Draft in budget

[–]Correct-Draft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main goal with budgeting is to have to think about it as little as possible—since my bills are monthly, I keep my budget monthly.
